KBEAUTY | Jayjun Cosmetic Baby Pure Shining Mask #100DaysofSheetMasks

When I started my sheet mask hunt for what to try first and fan favourites, any sheet mask from Jayjun Cosmetic (and yes it's Cosmetic not Cosmetics) kept popping up so I made it a point to find what sheet masks I could from this baby of a Korean company (launched in 2014) to see what the fuss was all about starting with one of the more highly chatted about masks - The Baby Pure Shining Mask!

Jayjun Cosmetic was founded by a group of plastic surgeons, dermatologists and cosmetics professionals under the slogan of "Responsible for Beauty" which means finding skincare solutions to ensure skin looks younger, tighter and brighter. I'm pretty sure this is the mission statement for most if not all skincare brands. The Baby Pure Shining Mask aims at hydrating the skin, reducing water evaporation and improving skin texture by replacing dull-looking skin with a bright and radiant complexion.

The 3-step Baby Pure Shining Mask begins with the Blooming Essence which I apply after cleansing and toning. The essence is gel-like and almost watery in texture absorbing easily into my skin. As a skincare "primer" I was glad to see no silicones like dimethicone and cyclopentasiloxane in the ingredients list!

Step 2 is the main event with the Intensive Shining Mask! The material of this mask was incredibly thin and held a whackload of essence! It fit my face easily with no chin goatee with a fragrance that is lightly floral, but cannot be smelled once the mask is on skin. There are silicones in the ingredients list, but they are towards the end of the list so this bothers me less than if they were in the beginning.

Once the sheet mask was removed, the third and final step was the Hydro Eye Cream which there was A LOT of! There was 1.5mL of eye cream in the packet and for a single application, this is a lot so I ended up using it all over my face too! The consistency felt very creamy and plump and is one that I would probably buy just on its own.

I took this photo to show that if you need a quick translation when there is no English, I use Google Translate and hold my camera over the Korean characters so I can get a LIVE translation! It's not always the most accurate, but oftentimes it's close enough!

Mask Summary:

Scent: Mask is slightly floral in scent
Duration: 10-20 minutes
Thickness: Super thin
Mask Fit: Perfect
Tackiness: Very tacky
Hydration: Good

Final verdict: My skin was quite tacky and very shiny once I had completed all three steps and the tackiness was still present even 2 hours after I had completed my skincare routine. In the morning, my skin was not tacky, but instead looked so bright and radiant! I am torn as to whether I should repurchase because the results were great, but the tackiness was not so I will conclude this review by saying that yes, I would use this mask again, but probably not as often as other masks. Though I loved how radiant my skin looked, I can also achieve this with a great exfoliator and my Odacite Facial Serums.

You can find the Jayjun Cosmetic Baby Pure Shining Mask at many Kbeauty e-tailors and local retailers. I found mine at H-mart in Downtown Vancouver!
