Boscia Body Care Review

I have been on a bit of a Boscia kick ever since the event I attended online two weeks ago! I always feel like these beauty events renew your curiosity and love for a brand or certain products. It also helps when you get co-founder of Boscia, Lan Belinky, to teach you about every single product and how best to use them! For fun, I went back through my old blog posts to see when I started using Boscia and how often, and you know what? I started using Boscia 10 YEARS ago beginning with their Blotting Linens, BB Cream (THE BEST, but now discontinued) and their cleansing oil. Back in the day, I knew them more as a Western brand with Asian beauty roots which was kind of perfect for me as I was still navigating through the world of beauty and skincare. Fast forward to now where Boscia is killing it with updated eye-catching packaging and a bunch of new products not just for the skin, but for the body too!

Boscia Body Care Review

Firstly, this seems to be a predominantly an Asian skincare thing to do, but all Boscia products have a best by date on the box! The only time you really see expiration dates on Western beauty products is on sunscreen (because you are legally required to do so) so having a best by date is incredibly useful especially if you have a lot of beauty products like myself! I periodically go through everything to make sure things haven't gone off, but having a date on there gives me some sort of a reference.

Papaya and Pomegranate Enzyme Exfoliating Body Cleanser
Boscia Papaya and Pomegranate Enzyme Exfoliating Body Cleanser

Just like the name says, this body cleanser/shower gel contains papaya and pomegranate enzymes, but it also contains AHAs like lactic and mandelic acid as well as salicylic acid in the form of willowbark extract! As someone who enjoys exfoliating every time I'm in the shower with a physical scrub, sometimes it's nice to save some water and cut things short by doing a 2-in-1 all with just a shower gel! This body cleanser can be used directly on the skin or on a loofah. I tend to like the loofah more as I feel I use less product. It does lather a little and smells slightly citrusy.

I get a lot of in-growns on the sides of my legs so regularly using a body cleanser like this has helped keep pores open and aided in sloughing off dead skin.

You will also see from the photo below that the packaging is really quite shower friendly! The product is dispensed with a simple twist of the cap and a bottle that is easy to squeeze. I hate fiddling with caps or even flip tops in the shower so having an easy twist motion as well as a slightly "grippy" plastic so I won't be dropping the bottle! If you are in the US, you are also able to mail in your bottles for recycling using a pre-paid label provided by Boscia while also getting a 20% off code for doing so! Hopefully one day the logistics will work out and we can make this program available to Canadians too!

Peptide Youth-Restore Firming Body Serum
Boscia Peptide Youth-Restore Firming Body Serum

When I first came across the idea of using a body SERUM, I didn't realize that I was inadvertently doing it already when using the leftover essence from my sheet masks and then layering with a body moisturizer on top! I don't think both steps are necessary 100% of the time, but I like the idea of treating my body with the same care as my face!

Boscia Peptide Youth-Restore Firming Body Serum

If I were to just look at the ingredients for this serum, I would think this is for the face because we have niacinamide, hyaluronic acid and peptides!! I have never seen peptides in a body product before and the peptide that's in here is known to keep the skin tight and help with sagging! Yes, please! It also has a  faintly pleasant scent of orange thanks to orange peel oil.

While you could use a moisturizer on top of this serum, I found that this serum on its own was enough hydration for my skin. It's quite liquid in texture, easily spreadable, but has a cushion-like plumpness that is very hydrating. It's an interesting texture and one that I have enjoyed using.

Prebiotic + Probiotic Freshening All-over Body Deodorant
Boscia Prebiotic + Probiotic Freshening All-over Body Deodorant

THIS was the product I was most fascinated by! An ALL-OVER body deodorant! This can be used not just for the underarms, but for your inner thighs, behind the knees, underneath your breasts or wherever things might get stuck together or chafe! Personally, I have been using this on the soles of my feet as I wear tights all day at work so any help with odour is welcomed! I don't want to muck up the applicator so I take a bit of product on my fingers and rub it into my feet. Once rubbed in, I don't get any staining on my clothing.

This deodorant even gently exfoliates with glycolic and lactic acid! What makes this deodorant even more special is the inclusion of prebiotic and probiotics which help to balance the skin's microbiome and reduce the amount of odour-causing bacteria that feeds off sweat. If you haven't guessed, this is natural cream textured deodorant that comes out the colour of dough (?) and needs to be massaged in, but leaves a smooth, matte finish.

Boscia Prebiotic + Probiotic Freshening All-over Body Deodorant

Natural deodorants can take the body a couple of weeks to get used to especially if you are transitioning from anti-perspirants. I have been using natural deodorants for over a decade at this point so my body does not go through this process anymore, but inside the box, Boscia has a weekly timeline of how things will progress, but things will get worse before they get better! Now, I don't think I could ever go back to non-natural deodorants!

Boscia Body Care Review

Final verdict: Super pleased with all three of these products! The body cleanser and serum are my favourites and though I like the deodorant, I think I prefer a liquid/balm to a cream texture, but this is a relatively minor thing. Shower-friendly packaging also won me over!
