SKINCARE | Vegreen Vegan Skincare Routine

This is a sponsored post.

Even after all this time, I still LOVE discovering new skincare no matter the price point as we have all learned that results and efficacy are really what matter! I was recently introduced to the vegan Korean skincare brand Vegreen, which is a blend of the words "vegetable" and "green" with the idea being that the main ingredients used are renewable from nature and the products are made with minimal packaging.

Rice Facial Wash Cleanser

This is a mild gel cleanser with a low pH that foams ever so slightly on the skin and does not leave my skin feeling stripped and squeaky. I love that the very first ingredient is rice extract which is something I have never seen before! Rice has been found to soften and hydrate the skin. Before reading the product description, I liked the texture of the cleanser for a second cleanse and when I went back, I saw that the website said that this cleanser was best used as a second cleanse!

It does have a slightly sweet almond fragrance that I enjoy and while it does a decent job of refreshing and cleansing my skin, I do need to use a separate makeup remover for my eye makeup.

Ingredients: Oryza Sativa (Rice) Extract(74.96%), Water, Coco-Betaine, Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Arginine, Sodium Chloride, Betaine, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Hydroxyacetophenone, Sodium Methyl Isethionate, Lauric Acid, Ethylhexylglycerin, Centella Asiatica Extract, Sodium Laurate, Allantoin, Pentylene Glycol, Pyrus Communis (Pear) Fruit Extract, Disodium EDTA, Decyl Glucoside, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, Rosa Damascena Flower Water, Prunus Persica (Peach) Fruit Extract, Hedera Helix (Ivy) Leaf/Stem Extract, Lactobacillus/Rice Ferment, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Water, Pimpinella Anisum (Anise) Fruit Extract, Vanilla Planifolia Fruit Extract, Cucumis Melo (Melon) Seed Extract, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Extract, Polyglyceryl-10 Stearate, Ceramide NP

Skin Barrier Reishi Serum

I was most excited about this serum as I love mushroom extract for my skin! I also love them as food so I always have a positive feeling about mushrooms whenever I see them! This serum is formulated with three different types of mushroom: Reishi mushroom extract known as the 'Herb of Eternal Youth" which strengthens the skin barrier, Chaga mushroom extract, has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and photo protective properties, and Tremella fuciformis extract, improves skin elasticity, plumps and smooths fine lines and evens out skin tone.

There are also probiotics in this serum which is another all-time favourite ingredient of mine in the form of Lactobacillus ferment. Probiotics are all about maintaining a happy skin microbiome and keeping it at a suitable pH level. Well-balanced microbiomes result in skin that breaks out less, reduction in redness and an increase in the skin's glow.

The texture of this serum is very watery which is perfect for my skincare routine as I use this at night where my routine has many layers! It also has no scent. I have been using this for over a month now and it has been a solid serum for my skin. It's not complicated, has a simple ingredients list and was incredibly easy to incorporate into my existing routine. While it does not have a tacky finish, it is a fairly hydrating serum and sometimes I would even forget to moisturize as I tend to change into my PJs after I apply serums to let them "soak in" a bit before applying moisturizer. If you are someone who likes to just use one serum both AM and PM, this is perfect as it does not pill when foundation is applied.

Ingredients: Ganoderma Lucidum (Mushroom) Extract (65%), Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Lactobacillus Ferment(32,500Ppm), Water, Niacinamide, Glycereth-26.1.2-Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Hydroxyacetophenone, Pentylene Glycol, Xanthan Gum, Ethylhexylglycerin, Allantoin, Betaine, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Inonotus Obliquus (Mushroom) Extract, Tremella Fuciformis (Mushroom) Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Adenosine, Sodium Hyaluronate, Lactococcus Ferment Lysate, Saccharomyces Ferment, Streptococcus Thermophilus Ferment, Bacillus Ferment

Nature Mucin Cream

This vegan moisturizer is powered by yams! There is actually no water in the ingredients list which I found super interesting. Wild yam extract is known for reducing flakiness and restoring suppleness to the skin. I don't think I have used any products with wild yam until this one and I quite like it! This is a lightweight gel-like moisturizer that absorbs incredibly quickly into the skin, but still leaves skin feeling moist. There is no scent and I find that I only needed about a pea-sized amount of product for my face and neck as it had good spreadability. This moisturizer also worked just fine with foundation without any pilling or patchiness.

Ingredients: Dioscorea Villosa (Wild Yam) Root Extract (59%), Glycerin, Dipropylene Glycol, Caprylic/ Capric Triglyceride, Propanediol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Butylene Glycol Dicaprylate/ Dicaprate, Cetyl Phosphate, Glyceryl Stearate, Arginine, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/ VP Copolymer, Ethylhexylglycerin

Final verdict: In terms of ingredients, I cannot complain as the lists are simple and contain good concentrations of featured ingredients. If you are looking for a straightforward skincare experience and routine, what I have tried from Vegreen has been effective with nicer plant-based ingredients than what I have seen in more luxurious brands! Every product is vegan with an affordable price point and does what it claims to do - can't get better than that right? I look forward to trying more from the brand, especially their serums!

You can find Vegreen on their website, the Vegreen Amazon Store as well as various Korean e-tailers.
