SKINCARE | Tocobo Skincare Routine with the Best Sunscreen EVER!

Last year, I fell in love with Korean skincare brand Tocobo - specifically, their Bio Watery Sun Cream which I full on finished over the summer! It's not an easy brand to find and while there are a few Canadian retailers who carry Tocobo as a brand, I found the sunscreen the most challenging to find so luckily when it came back in stock at my favourite Canadian K-Beauty store, Bellbees, I picked it up and immediately knew after trying out the sunscreen that I would need to experience more!

Firstly, I like Tocobo's packaging as it seems fun and youthful. Something about the red on light blue is pleasing to the eye. They seem like a brand that would take you on a hot air balloon ride or something. Trying to figure out what the brand's ethos is was a bit challenging as I think some of it has gotten lost in translation with their website saying "TOCOBO is a brand created based on intuition. You intuitively recognize a good product which contains insight into beauty". I have no idea what that really means, but from what I gather about the brand based on looking at their ingredients, they focus on strengthening the skin barrier using ceramides, multi-molecular weight hyaluronic acid and probiotics. Their ingredients are also vegan.

 

Bifida Biome Essence

Derived from the fermentation of yeast, the probiotic Bifida ferment lysate, is what made the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair the success it is. This ingredient is the first in the Bifida Biome Essence list and is known for strengthening the skin's own microbiome and decreasing skin sensitivity over time. This essence also contains two other probiotics so as the microbiome gets stronger, it also decreases the amount of harmful, acne-causing bacteria. 

This essence is lightweight, slightly watery and absorbs easily into the skin. I need only one pump to cover my face and neck and it leaves a non-tacky finish to the skin. This essence is awesome and I truly felt like my skin was living its best life when I was using it and I look forward to going back to this once I am done reviewing my current essence! It was clear, even-toned and healthy looking to the point where applying foundation made me feel sad.

Multi Ceramide Cream

I am usually indifferent towards moisturizers since they are just the "helmets" for all of the more "active" skincare steps prior, but this moisturizer was a surprise favourite! It has a sherbert-like texture and was initially my morning moisturizer as it absorbed quickly into the skin and did not pill when I applied foundation. Eventually, this became my night moisturizer too as even though it had a lightweight texture, its three sizes of HA hydrated my skin from outer to inner levels! 

The packaging is a frosted glass with plastic screw top which made it feel quite luxurious for a moisturizer that is under $50!

Cotton Soft Sun Stick SPF50+ PA++++

I don't usually like sunscreen sticks because they leave a trail of product along the way, but oh my is this ever smooth! You don't see a residue at all (no white cast) and my skin feels like I applied some sort of hydrating balm to it! You don't even need to massage it in and it's nice to be completely hands-free when it comes to sunscreen application and because it has a micro-sized powder in its formulation, it's also a fantastic makeup primer!

Bio Watery Sun Cream SPF50+ PA++++

This is was the product I fell in love with and used right to the very last drop! It has a more watery texture, but it just vanishes right into the skin as if you applied a moisturizer. It also has a cotton-like scent, which I am a fan of and I pretty much used this as moisturizer/sunscreen last summer. It isn't the least bit sticky and if I want to wear makeup on top - not a problem! No pilling or weird foundation patches!

Final verdict: I already loved the Tocobo sunscreen and now I love ALL OF IT! Bellbees currently is not not carrying the sunscreens, but I am hoping they get restocked as we get closer to summer!
