As I have gotten older, I have definitely moved over into more of the skincare side of beauty vs. the makeup even though I still love makeup, but maybe I'm not as experimental as I used to be. Nowadays, I don't often get excited about makeup, but when I saw the packaging of the new fmg GLO KOLOR collection I couldn't help getting excited about trying out the products! A collection that is all about no fuss beauty and making sure the skin is prepped and at its best, these hydrating and priming products feel like skincare, but can be friends with your makeup and I LOVE THAT.

From what I could research, the GLO KOLOR collection consists of the three products below all of which promise to hydrate while being breathable as well as refresh and give skin a dewy finish.

Hybrid Face Primer*

Starting with the face primer, this formula is infused with aloe vera, agave and algae and feels closer to a moisturizer than a primer as it does not have that slick silicone sensation. If anything, it feels a lot like a quick-absorbing gel moisturizer with a tiny bit of grip left to the skin so that foundation sits quite nicely on top. It also had a pleasant kind of cotton-like scent and has been one of my favourite primers to use to start my day! 

Hybrid Face Mist*

This face mist is one of those pick me up/makeup setting sprays that is infused with aloe vera, agave and algae extracts to help moisturize, soothe and nourish the skin. The spray is indeed very fine and while there are many skincare benefits to this spray, it does still have dimethicone in a higher concentration than the featured "skincare ingredients" so I would definitely treat this more as a makeup product rather than a skincare product. It doesn't leave a residue or tightness to the skin like some makeup sprays do, but I found that using it did not make a huge difference in whether my makeup stayed intact. It is quite refreshing to use especially if you like that cotton-like scent!

Lip Serum Pencil*

This was the product I was MOST excited to try because I ALWAYS use a lip balm, specifically the Burt's Bees Peppermint lip balm underneath any lip products. I love that minty tingle and I feel like it helps the overlaying lip product apply and sit better. This product practically mirrors what I have been using AND is vegan because it uses synthetic beeswax for its pencil and peppermint oil to get that tingle! It also primes the lips and smooths out any texture that might be happening. The formula is lightly balmy, not oily and has been really lovely underneath satin lipsticks and full on glosses! To get more product, just twist up the pencil! I have been using this quite a bit as I love that peppermint tingle so I have been twisting up a lot...

Final verdict: My favourite products out of the group were hands down the Face Primer and the Lip Serum! I felt like they were so pleasant and easy to use and played well with my foundation and any lipstick or lipgloss I chose to wear!
