SHEET MASK | A By Bom Ultra Serum Leaf Mask

A By Bom Ultra Serum Leaf Mask
Purchased by me

It has been extremely wet and rainy these last few days so staying indoors and cleaning has not been the hardest thing in the world to do while I am on my "forced" vacation. I only say "forced" because the other manager and I realized that neither one of us had taken any vacation days since August! November and December is a blackout period for us in retail, but the fact that neither one of us had taken any was a bit of a surprise to me and then I realized that this is the FIRST year where we didn't have that horrible employee of ours! I usually would use a few vacation days every month just to escape work and seeing that awful woman's face/dealing with abusive emails, but now work is enjoyable so there is nothing more to escape!

Now, it is evident that minimalism is trending i.e we are seeing the return of "Project Pan" and "No Buy" Posts and though I have been feeling the pull towards a cleaner and simpler aesthetic, I have found it difficult to find the time to organize as well as say goodbye to my beauty items. I have been "purging" for what feels like 7 years, but then I either acquire more or stop writing which leads to the accumulation or just the fact that NOTHING is moving out either! I have been reallllly trying these last few months to be better and I think I am on the right track with also changing my YouTube feed to feature more minimalist creators. I will be kind to myself and do monthly check-ins vs weekly, but I think for this to really make an impact, I am going to have to be SUPER organized about my posting. I think NOT spending on any beauty until Black Friday (if I can) will be really helpful in terms getting rid of the clutter and getting me closer to maxing out my TFSA, which is my focus this year, but will all likelihood take me 2 years to max out unless we make more of our bonuses this year or I increase my commission significantly!

Now, that I have yammered on for far too long let's get into today's sheet mask! What makes this mask special? Well, at the time of my picking up this mask, A by Bom was one of the coolest brands in the sheet mask world and had some of the nicest plant-based ingredients which is exactly the case with this mask! This essence contains apple, pomegranate, fig and peony extract as well apricot kernel oil. All of these ingredients serve to increase elasticity, soften skin and of course hydrate like crazy!

The mask material is also what is called a Bemliese maks sheet which is a continuous cotton fibre that is biodegradable and suitable for sensitive skin. This fibre is also very thin and incredibly soft! It held essence very well and looked near transparent on my skin.

Mask Summary:

Price: $4.99 CDN

What it does: Hydrates and nourishes

Scent: Slightly floral

Essence Type: Milky and feels "plump" with a slight pink tint

Duration: 30 minutes

Thickness: Thin

Mask Fit: Like a glove

Tackiness: Very light

Hydration: If it wasn't so dry right now, I would say that the hydration provided was enough, but in this weather, I layered with skoah's Dream Kream.

Other notes: This is an older mask, but the mask fabric absorbed so much of the serum that it was so "juicy" when applying the mask to my face that it was dripping at the chin with how much serum there was!

Final verdict: If these still existed, I would absolutely get more! I loved the whole experience as well as the results even if I had to use additional moisturizer.

Sadly, I have no idea what has happened to this brand, but I loved the packaging so much I wanted to make sure it still had its place here on on the blog!
