MAKEUP LOOK | Fall Freshness with Guerlain KissKiss RoseLip and Rose Aux Joues Tendre Blush Review & Swatches

I absolutely love the inspiration behind this season's Guerlain Bloom of Rose Collection as it revolves around a 19th century discovery of a liquid tint that was gently dabbed onto the lips and cheeks. In 1918, Guerlain launched Roselip, which was the first solid lip colour to be sold in a jar and now the story continues with a collection that embodies natural shades to maintain a beautiful healthy glow - just like a rose. To pull away from all of the smoky Fall eyes I've been doing, I decided to channel the fresh faced makeup looks from Korea using the new KissKiss RoseLip Hydrating & Plumping Tinted Lip Balm* ($41.00 CDN) and Rose Aux Joues Tender Blush* ($57.00 CDN).

Coming in 6 shades, all inspired by bouquets of flowers, t
he KissKiss Roselip Lip Balm is sheer, hydrating and smooth to the touch because of jojoba seed oil. There is also rose water in the formulation, but as this ingredient sits about halfway down the list the question of whether it actually has an effect on the lips is questionable.

Guerlain's packaging is always one of my favourites as this hefty white lacquered tube feels like pure luxury with its accents of gold.

R373 Pink Me Up smells just like roses and is SUPER smooth on the lips. It literally just glides while filling and plumping any lackluster areas on the lips. The colour really is quite sheer and I found that this was really best as a "my lips, but better" product.

The Rose aux Joues Tender Blush comes in 6 iconic shades and is a relaunch of Guerlain's signature blush offerings. With pigments that enhance your natural glow as well as "pink booster" pigments that allow natural red light to blend with the skin and enhance rosiness, radiance is readily achievable.

I received the shade 06 Pink Me Up and it is so sweet-looking! When I wear it, I look like I can do no wrong!

Final verdict: While I loved this natural look and the inspiration behind Guerlain's Fall collection, I would much rather invest in their more pigmented lip colours in the KissKiss Lipstick line instead of something sheer like Roselip. The blush, I adore and would love to get a darker shade to go with the smoky eyes I have been wearing lately for fall.
