Wantable | October 2013 Make Up Edition

That’s right, this is the October Wantable edition at the beginning of January! It’s almost laughable, but this box was pretty good so I wanted to share it with you all! January is all about new year’s resolutions so for me that’s catching up with what I missed out on telling you all from 2013! October seems so long ago and all I remember about my preferences for the October Wantable edition is that I REALLY tried to make sure that I got nail polish in my box and sure enough, I received TWO polishes!

Darla Makeup | Peepers Eyeshadow in Rolled OatsDSC_0021

The ultimate staple for any makeup bag. This light taupe with golden undertones is almost good enough to eat. A great colour to wear alone or dare to pair up with other colours to create a great day to night look.

Thoughts: “Rolled Oats” is pretty shimmery nude that is perfect for a neutral eye. It doesn’t have the softest formula, but it does transfer quite a bit of colour to the eye. Darla Makeup is free of talc, parabens, fragrance, petroleum, carcinogens and gluten so vegans out there, this is the makeup line for you!

I received: 2.5g/$18.00

Brazen Cosmetics | Loose Eyeshadow in GiddyDSC_0024

This pretty lilac pink shadow is the perfect eye-brightening shade.

Thoughts: As much as I have from Brazen Cosmetics, this is actually a very pretty eye shadow. It’s shimmery which I love and isn’t too dark so I can wear it without looking like I’ve been punched in the face.

I received: 5g/$18.00 (I didn’t find this price point on the Brazen Cosmetics website…)

Pomegranate Nail Lacquer | Palace GardensDSC_0025

Palace Gardens is an enchanting emerald green creme with shimmer. Our long wearing polish glides on smooth for a great finish. All of our polish is made in the USA, 4-free and is free of animal testing.

Thoughts: I have been DYING to try a Pomegranate Lacquer after seeing swatches on ChrissyAi! They do not ship to Canada hence my pining for it! This is a gorgeous shimmery green and is a fairly large size at 14.5mL.

I received: 14.5mL/$8.50

Rainbow Honey | Nail Lacquer EphemeralDSC_0026

Ephemeral is a lovely soft pink shimmer with strong blue and purple hues in artificial lighting. In the sun, its microglitters show gold, pink and turquoise.

Thoughts: This is the FIRST Rainbow Honey polish that I have received in a Wantable box that I DO NOT have! This just goes to show you how many Rainbow Honeys I own! This is a beautiful shimmery pink and perfect for a girly day.

I received: 15mL/$10.00

29 Cosmetics | Moisturizing Lipstick in Lightly CrushedDSC_0028

Long-lasting grape seed antioxidant enriched moisturizing lipstick nourishes and protects the lips from environmental pollutants and the harmful effects of free radicals. Helps lips appears smooth and moisturized while visibly easing the signs of aging.

Thoughts: This is a pretty bronzy-deep red with a touch of shimmer. I have received a 29 Cosmetics lipstick before in a much brighter red so this is a nice contrast.

I received: 4.5g/$25.00

Skiin | Instant Skin Tightener and Line Filler SampleDSC_0352

Thoughts: This is my fifth one of these. I have yet to try it…this is one of those beauty samples that has been floating around because I received it in my BB5 as well.

Total Value of October Wantable Box: $79.50

This two nail polishes were all I needed for me to love October’s Wantable box. Nail polish is definitely the way to my beauty heart and the other products were pretty enjoyable as well, but nothing that got me too excited. With the Wantable boxes, I am definitely more discerning about when to opt for them as it is a more expensive box ($40 CDN). I did skip December and will most likely skip January as well. I do love that Wantable listened to my cries of moooore nail polish so it is definitely a beauty subscription whose surveys count for something!
