Fall has dropped and this is actually the first Fall item that I have decided to use because it seemed fitting for summer as well! Metallics are not going away and Dior is making sure of that with the limited edition release of the Dior Metalizers! Coming in seven ultra pigmented shades, these Metalizers can be worn on both the eyes and lips and have a creamy, long-wearing formula that will still metallic for as long as you need.
I received the shades Copper Power* ($32.00 CDN) and Platine Fusion* both of which were totally acceptable shades in summer so I have been playing around with them for the last couple of weeks only to realize how cool they are and how easy they are to use to put together a look!
There is 8mL of product in a plastic squeeze tube which I really like because a little really really goes a long way! The smaller opening also gives me a lot more control with how much I squeeze out. The cream texture, while very easy to blend, dries quickly so having this type of formula in a tube goes a long way in making sure the product stays workable.
The Metalizers can be applied alone on the eyes and lips or layered and used in conjunction with lipstick or eyeshadow. I have actually been using Copper Power as my base and then adding powder eyeshadow to the outer V to create a smoky eye which has totally been my morning eye routine for, I kid you not, two weeks straight now! I didn't think a creme would blend well with a powder, but it actually does so beautifully!
I found Platine Fusion a touch harder to work with as I felt the formula was slightly harder to blend. I initially applied this all over my lips to see what sort of effect it would give, but the colour kept moving around and looking a bit patchy because the formula was so quick drying and every move distorted the finish. This shade seemed to work much better on top of an existing shade of lipstick.
Applying Platine Fusion on just the center and top of my lips with a lip brush which worked out MUCH better than on my entire lip. I don't know if I would wear this outside, but it was fun to try!
Final verdict: I love how long wearing these are and the fact that I have been wearing Copper Power to the extent that I have is a testament to how easy they are to use because I am not one for complicated eyeshadow looks in the morning. I had one particularly long work day last week where this sucker had to stay on my eyes for 12 hours and when I came home there wasn't a single crease in the shadow!
