NAILS | Halloween Black Kitty Cats #CBBxManiMonday

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend! I had mentioned on Friday through my Instagram stories that I had to work all the way through until today, but hubs and I did end up having a quiet Thanksgiving dinner when I got home from work. I'm not big on family dinners and get-togethers (I know, I am the daughter from hell) and especially with how I always feel when I come home from my job, I am just devoid of energy. I expend so much of my brain power at work that I find it physically difficult to socialize much afterwards so thankfully Casey is a fan of both cooking and having quiet dinners!

Last week, I got my VERY first Shellac manicure at the launch of the new CND Luxe collection at Onyx Aethesthics. Did you know that like the brand "Kleenex", "Shellac" was coined by CND and is the only brand that can legitimately use that term? If you are getting a gel polish manicure done by ANY other brand, you technically have to say "gel manicure"!

I was hesitant to get Shellac as I change my polish so often, but the crew at CND and Onyx know me well enough that they understood when I said I still wanted to experience their new CND Luxe line, but wanted solid colours (orange and black) so that I could add some Halloween flair on top. The actual manicure itself took just 30 minutes as there is no base coat to cure! Just the polish and top coat! The other promise CND has made is that it will only take me 60 SECONDS to remove the Shellac as it will "butterfly beautifully" after just 1 minute. We shall see tomorrow when I move onto my next manicure!

I kept it simple this week just by adding one coat of the now defunct Rainbow Honey Hellfire, a dense Fall-appropriate glitter of orange, silver and red, on top of the black CND Shellac polish (sorry I forgot to get the names!). For the middle nails, I used the TwinkledT x SimplyNailogical Menchie nail vinyls on top of the orange Shellac base, painted one thick coat of Essence Black is Back and then peeled off the vinyl. I sealed everything in with one coat of CND's Weekly Top Coat and we were all good!

Have a great day everyone and be sure to check out: Renee, Trysh and Eithne's blog and social media channels for their Halloween-themed manicures!
