GIVEAWAY | Aromatherapy with Scentuals Natural and Organic Skincare

Aromatherapy was a necessary part of my life long before it became trendy as I try to avoid alcohol or prescription medications if I can as I have always been that 1% that gets that random unpleasant side effect in the fine print. I have a phobia of vomiting and nausea so the minute I know I can potentially feel sick from something, there is no stopping me so as hippie as aromatherapy used to be, it became a part of my life as soon as I realized I was prone to daily headaches, motion sickness or just having a hormonal day. I even get headaches from high air pressure so surrounding myself with scents that feel like they are opening up blood vessels in my brain and alleviating pain can take me from zero to hero so when I saw that Canadian brand Scentuals had specific headache products, my interest was piqued!

Handcrafted and batched in Coquitlam, BC, I am always keen on supporting local businesses and though I had not heard of Scentuals until they reached out to me, I had a look at the ingredients they used in their blends and they sounded effective and most importantly, well thought out. I also liked the prices and that it didn't take a gajillion Canadian dollars to get free shipping (it's $75 if you were wondering!). Yes, free shipping is always nice, but I think we Canadians will never get over the fact that shipping is just expensive!

In the aromatherapy department, I chose a few scents and products to try with a focus on combating headaches and feeling refreshed starting with the Rosemary Mint Bar Soap which is made of palm, olive and coconut oil, besswax, goat milk powder and bits of peppermint and spearmint leaves for gentle exfoliation. I adore the scent of rosemary and mint so this soap is just perfect. While the exfoliation is nice, my rough areas still needed a genuine scrub to slough off any tough skin.

I have also been using the two Rosemary and Peppermint 100% Pure Essential Oils in a number of different ways! One thing that I started doing is dropping about 7-8 drops of essential oil into the tub before I had shower so that when I stepped in, my shower was already starting to clear my head and relax me. Depending on my mood, I will use both of these scents or just one or the other, or lavender and spearmint. I have also mixed both of these oils into a spray bottle to relieve my dry scalp to stop any itching.

Ah the Headache Roll-On! When it comes to headache fighters, Saje's Peppermint Halo has been my go-to for years now not only because of the scent, but because your skin actually tingles and feels cool from the peppermint and can actually make your eyes water if you apply it too closely along the temples.

The Scentuals version of this headache buster is a blend of rice bran, rosemary, peppermint, lavender, geranium and sweet marjoram oils and has a METAL ball applicator for extra cooling! This I LOVE. Best idea ever! While the scent of this blend DOES relieve me of nausea, my skin does not tingle and when I look at the concentration of peppermint oil in the two roll-ons, the Saje version lists peppermint oil as the first ingredient while Scentuals has it as their fourth. What's nice about Saje's version is that the tingling also helps with numbing physical pain and it is because of that that I have been able to avoid taking an ibuprofen so I won't be giving up my current headache remedy just yet!

While there are plenty of companies that will just specialize in essential oils and leave it at that, Scentuals also has a complete skincare line, which if you were to pick up a complete routine would only be $250! I have quite honestly purchased a SINGLE moisturizer for that price so in my brain, this is a great price!

I was sent the Hydrating Facial Serum which is one of four brand new facial serums available and quite honestly, they all sound so nourishing and deliciously good for my skin. This is essentially the consistency of a facial oil so I have been using it alone and patting 2-4 drops on my face as well as mixing it with moisturizer. In addition to NONE of the serums having any water in them (yay for longer shelf-life and fewer fillers!), check out the size of this bottle! It is a whopping 60mL and it's not like I'm using very much each time! A 60mL bottle like this is $45 for all of the facial serums which is unbelievably good pricing for the ingredients in each bottle. The serum itself was indeed very hydrating, smelled fantastic and didn't leave me feeling too greasy.
