Today felt a bit like a Sunday, but for many like myself it was a regular work day. It was a quiet day though so I got a chance to catch up on some paperwork and prep for our client event this week without feeling overwhelmed. I missed out on Remembrance Day nails last year, but with the present political climate and the recent shooting in California, those fighting around the world, veterans and those who have survived and need support have been on my mind.
This year, I decided to go back to the classic poppy design, but instead of painting on a white background, I decided to try a new thermal nail polish from Born Pretty (I did not realize that it was thermal until I started painting!) to simulate the sky.

If you have not tried a thermal polish, they are a ton of fun to wear especially if you have longer nails because you will often have a slight natural "French tip" because of the temperature difference. This Born Pretty Color Changing Polish comes in 12 shades with the blues, pinks and purples always being my favourite. The shade I am wearing is called "Touch You" (this is when I KNOW there muct be translation issues) and transitions from light blue when cold to almost grey blue when warm.

For my poppies, I used Essence Fame Fatale* and Essence Black is Back* along with a dotting tool to make the flower shape. I applied top coat as I always love a good shine as well as my favourite Julep Dry Drops so I could go to bed faster!
I love how the thermal polish ended up looking with the poppies and as always be sure to check out: Renee and Trysh's blog and social media channels for their manicures! If you would like to pick up this super cool thermal polish for yourself, head on over to Born Pretty and use the code UXL91!
