KBEAUTY | Ultru I'm Sorry for My Skin Black Mud Mask Tightening #100DaysofSheetMasks

BEST. CLAY. MASK. EVER. Ok, review done. We can all go home. All kidding aside though, this mask was such a surprise to me and I would not have given it a go until much later in my mask journey if wasn't for some prompting from YouTuber @sarireanna who is also a skincare addict like myself! I received the Ultru I'm Sorry for My Skin Black Mud Mask as a press sample from the June Beauteque Monthly Mask Box and thought to myself "Meh, it's clay so it'll be messy and drying for my skin". I was oh so wrong and now I have purchased two more because I am over the moon for the results!

This is a CLAY-based sheet mask for all skin types made with volcanic ash, bentonite clay and sea silt and like most clay masks will detox, purify, smooth and draw out impurities. Ultru is a fairly new to the Kbeauty stage at only 4 years old, but if their other products are like this one, I will buy them all!

This is a long mask with a wait time of almost an hour as the clay hardens so be prepared to either have a bath, blog or putter around the house.

In terms of ingredients, I am much more focused on the clay portion, but I was actually surprised to see a number of soothing oils around the midpoint of the ingredients list as well as some plant extracts so this turned out to be a clay mask plus a little sumthin' sumthin'!

So, what's the first thing we all dread when it comes to clay masks? The MESS. The clean up over the sink where the chunks of clay need to be moistened into a paste until they can come off the skin. I have used a washcloth, exfoliating sponges and my bare hands, but let's face it - removing a clay mask is f'ing annoying. With this sheet mask, the clay is underneath the sheet in a fairly even and thin layer and it was just SO CLEAN. No mud squeezed or dripped out with the fit of the mask was quite good with the nose being a little long. The 40 minutes I had the mask on went by very quickly and I never had to worry about the chin lifting because the fit got better as the clay got harder and dried.

Mask Summary:

Scent: Slightly floral, but very fresh
Duration: 30-40 minutes
Thickness: Medium, but hey it's clay!
Mask Fit: Good with the nose piece being a bit long
Tackiness: Zero
Hydration: Super soft and bright skin!

Final verdict: Hands down this is how I want clay masks done! My skin felt SO NICE afterwards and completely refreshed! The clean up was minimal with maybe one bit of clay on my skin after mask removal that was easily wiped off. This mask was such a game changer for me and as Mel C once said "things will never be the same again".

You can purchase the Ultru I'm Sorry for My Skin Black Mud Mask Tightening from Beauteque, Soko Glam and FaceTory.
