KBEAUTY | Papa Recipe Bombee Rose Gold Honey Mask #MerryMaskmas

I feel like I talk about Papa Recipe a lot and though I may not do it here on the blog, I often use my Papa Recipe Bombee Honey Mask when I need a recharge, recommend this mask 100% of the time whenever people ask me "What sheet masks do you recommend?" and have just purchased another 10 of these masks during the YesStyle Boxing Day Sale! Needless to say, my eyes were truly opened when I first tried this mask two years ago and when I read my review now, I feel like I am a little wiser after having tried just over 200 sheet masks this year! I *thought* I sheet-masked a lot two years ago, but if you had told me I would be doing it almost everyday now in addition to having done it for 100 days straight, I would have told you to GTFO!

Life is different now and I seem to have found a new joy in the beauty world that has honestly been incredibly therapeutic in terms of amusement, content and novelty. Makeup has never been my specialty and while I "clean up good" for The Gram, I'm at an age where skincare is just more important to me. While sheet masks might seem a bit "extra" for anyone's skincare routine, I have carved a place in my day for them and it is just nice to have something special to look forward to every night that is just your own.

Ever since I tried the first Papa Recipe mask,  I have been collecting ALL Papa Recipe sheet masks like Pokemon and while I have around 10 more to showcase here, I decided to start with the sexiest looking one - the Bombee Rose Gold Honey Mask!

The goals of this mask are pretty standard in that I should end up with hydrated skin with the help of rose water, rose flower extract, honey and propolis extract, royal jelly and most importantly 24K GOLD! I'm not a huge believer of the effects of gold, but it is a nice addition in any product. What I DO like about the essence ingredients are that the rose and honey derivatives are in the first half of the list.

Ingredients: Water, Methylpropanediol, Glycereth-26, 1,2-Hexanediol, Rosa Damascena Flower Water (1,000ppm), Rosa Centifolia Flower Extract (10ppm), Propolis ExtractHoney Extract(1,000ppm), Pearl Extract, Royal Jelly Extract, Butylene Glycol, Betaine, Allantoin, Panthenol, Xanthan Gum, Disodium EDTA, Potassium Hydroxide, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Gold (10ppm), Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Carbomer, Tromethamine, Chrondrus Crispus Powder, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Ethyl Hexanediol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Fragrance

The gold honeycomb design was so pretty! While I thought that "rose gold" meant the mask would be rose gold, it was actually referring to the rose water AND 24K gold in the essence! For a printed mask, this had the same incredibly nice fit as the original Papa Recipe mask and for me to be able to leave this on for the full 30 minutes without having ANY chin goatee is always a tell-tale sign of a mask with the right amount of essence in addition to just a great sheet mask material.

Mask Summary:

Scent: Honey
Duration: 20-30 min
Thickness: Thin
Mask Fit: Good with slits around eye holes a plus!
Tackiness: Light
Hydration: Medium

Final verdict: I will comment on the note I made saying that hydration was only "medium" for me because I don't mean that in a bad way. I expect to put moisturizer on afterwards and when I compared how my skin felt after using this mask to the original Papa Recipe mask, I felt like my skin was more hydrated with the latter. I still enjoyed this mask thoroughly both for ingredients and visual appeal and have already purchased two more at Miniso!

You can find the Papa Recipe Bombee Rose Gold Honey Mask at various Korean retailers and e-tailers. It's a popular one!
