HOLIDAY | Urban Decay Elements Eyeshadow Palette with Makeup Look and Swatches

It's mid-December and you are FINALLY seeing a holiday makeup post from me! I feel like I have had my blinders on this year when it has come to reading holiday posts for fear of overspending because let's face it, Christmas has become a consumer occasion and my goal this year is to focus on the feelings behind the gifting and making sure I am helpful to clients and kind to my brothers and sisters in retail!

I haven't done a lot of looks and palette reviews this year as I have really enjoyed being makeup-free on my two days off each week so if I am going to play with a palette, it is DEFINITELY going to be one worth having and that is EXACTLY what is happening today! The newly released Urban Decay Elements Eyeshadow Palette is indeed a sight to behold if you love metallic shades!

PR sample

Inspired by the elements of earth, water, air and fire, the Elements eyeshadow palette contains 19 shades comprised of 3 mattes, 3 iridescents and 16 metallics (my FAVOURITE!) and like most of UD's palettes, have a beautiful, buttery formula with a colour intensity that will have people asking, "What are you wearing on your eyes??"

What I like about this palette is that even though there are a fair number of shades with many of them being non-everyday shades, you can see a colour story and even a scared shitless person like me can look at this palette and make something work!

I had no issues with any of the shades with all of them being incredibly smooth and pigmented. There is a miniscule amount of fallout from some of the darker metallic shades, but nothing too crazy. The center shade "Luna" is more of a topper so don't expect the pigmentation to be too intense.

In any palette, I generally gravitate towards the blue or purple shades in any palette like this so I went right into the purples, but then remembered that beautiful gold shade and wanted to create a regal look incorporating both!

Final Verdict: I generally like most eyeshadow palettes from Urban Decay and though I have almost all of them, it takes a particular collection of colours to make me go "I NEED TO TRY THIS NOW!" The Elements palette really caught my attention because of those glorious metallics and I even wore the two blue shades to WORK! It was a more dramatic look, but the wear time and intensity were great! This is obviously not an everyday palette, but a fun one and one that I have already worn a few times this holiday season!
