This was supposed to have been in my possession before Christmas but with my wonky schedule didn't end up arriving until we were all giveaway'd out so now that I am sure everyone is on some sort of no-buy, it's the perfect time for me to give something back to YOU! Now, I am sure many of you saw the NYX Sugar Trip Advent Calendar* with its fun packaging and 24 days of makeup and now that I have had a chance to play and swatch everything inside, I am legit excited for whoever will get this calendar for themselves!

This limited edition calendar contains a mixture of fan favourite lippies, like the beloved Butter Glosses (my first NYX love) and the Soft Matte Lip Creams, eyeshadows, highlighters, blushes and lip oils!
When I first opened the box and saw the packaging, I really didn't know what to think other than "Holy moly there are a lot of colours going on here!", but when I showed a friend's teenage daughter the calendar, she thought it was the coolest thing ever. Am I just too old to understand the artwork? Is this how my parents felt when I wanted my entire bedroom decked out in Lisa Frank? Regardless, the formulas are solid and what I have come to know from NYX and if you don't want to see the swatches of everything and ruin the surprise for yourself, STOP HERE and skip straight to the bottom for the giveaway!
There are three highlighters and one blush that are all FULL SIZED so there won't be any difficulty using a normal sized brush in these pans. I hate when you have to use a travel sized brush for samples. The highlighters are not the "2018 beams of light you can see from space", but they still very much catch the light.
The six eyeshadows come in little pairs named: Licorice Lane, Whipped Wonderland and Sweet Chateau with each pair being composed of one matte and one metallic shade. While mattes are never my favourite, I understand they do have a purpose in an eye look, but being a holiday collection, I would have TOTALLY BEEN OK with all metallic blues and greens!
The majority of this calendar is lip products, but when I think of NYX must-haves, they are most definitely the lip products! The Soft Matte Lip Creams and Butter Glosses were my must-haves and are still what I take with me when I travel because they are the most perfect MLBBs but with a non-tacky finish. Both of my favourite products are featured in miniature size in this calendar PLUS some extra fun shades that may not be holiday themed, but will definitely get you out of your comfort zone!
I actually did not realize that NYX had lip oils, but why wouldn't they since their lip collection is so expansive already! The two lip oils included (far left) appear clear, but do have a slight tint of purple or pink.
