NAILS | Scotch Taping #CBBxManiMonday

As I write this, I am once again tearing up to "Fuller House" on Netflix. The nostalgia of watching this show plus how much raunchier and funnier it is has been thoroughly enjoyable even with the new family members. I highly recommend the show to anyone who just loves a cheesy good time and grew up on "Full House"! It's a good thing "Fuller House" is so feelgood because this manicure did NOT make me feel good. AT FIRST.

Continuing on with the CBB theme of "Nails I Wouldn't Normally Do", I decided to go with "taping", but specifically using scotch tape. I normally use a lot of skin striping tape, but I rarely use the classic roll of scotch tape to create a colour block manicure. You can tell by the addition of the gold striping tape that something terrible DID happen when using the scotch tape which I will share shortly.

I recently received the OPI Nutcracker Holiday Collection and have been dreaming up various colour combinations since the collection is full of some stunning brights. I started off with two coats of OPI Dreams Need Clara-fication* and waited for it to fully dry. I then cut triangular pieces of tape and placed them in the middle of my nails. I applied one thick coat of the elegantly green OPI Envy the Adventure* and then when I went to peel off the tape, it peeled off in chunks! I had to redo the blue parts because I had to scratch off the tape with tweezers and because of that, all of the lines that were supposed to be straight were super jagged and messed up hence my Saviour - the gold striping tape that I picked up from Born Pretty!

I think I managed to salvage the manicure because even hubby gave me a face of disappointment when I had showed him what happened. I do love the colour combination of periwinkle blue and deep green and I am excited to showcase some more OPI Nutcracker nail art! Have a great day everyone!

Have a great day everyone and be sure to check out: Renee, Trysh and Eithne's blog and social media channels for their manicures!
