Merry Christmas all! I always debate whether to post anything on Christmas Day and for the couple of times I have, the next question is always what to post because by the 25th, we have been inundated with gift sets, holiday releases and gift guides since September! If I have learned anything over the last two years, it's that "when it doubt, throw on a sheet mask" which for today is bright red and jolly like Santa! It's not often that non-Korean brands impress me and I don't even know when I started looking into Los Angeles brand Double Dare, but once I saw realized the giant OMG! headbands and the red snail masks I had been seeing on Instagram were from this brand, I knew that both of these products would eventually make their way onto my head and face!

What makes this mask special? The essence is made with snail secretion filtrate, a very popular Asian ingredient known for its calming and healing properties and a "Super 8 Red" set of ingredients which come from "red things" like rose, tomato and red bean. This mask promises not only a good show, but an overall refreshment of the skin's appearance in terms of firmness and hydration.

A breakdown of the featured ingredients shows that the snail secretion filtrate is the last ingredient so I'm really not sure what sort of effect this will have on the skin as I have seen this ingredient in the top five with other products. The "Super 8 Red" ingredients are all over the place with some like red bean and ginger extract at the top, tomato extract in the middle and grapefruit, rose and hibiscus extract all the way at the bottom. I'm actually not TOO fussed about this list as there are other good ingredients at the top of the list like allantoin (calming), which is actually one of the main ingredients IN snail secretions, and glycerin. The list itself is generally filled with plant-based ingredients which I always enjoy.

Other notes: Skin texture was VERY smooth! Like it received a SERIOUS reboot!
Final verdict: Love, love, love this mask! Even though I needed moisturizer afterwards, the experience, scent and ingredients totally won me over (even without the headband as I got the headband AFTER I got my masks as it was backordered). I would totally get a pack of these again in a heartbeat!
