SHEET MASK | 23 Years Old Inthera Silfitting Petit Mask

I used a few weird masks during the #100DaysofSheetMasks Challenge, but none quite as strange as this mask from Korean beauty brand 23 Years Old. If you haven't heard of the brand before, don't feel too badly because I had not heard of it either until I dove into sheet masks because they do some pretty interesting ones plus a cool modelling mask which I will try soon! The brand believes that "we are at our most attractive and youthful in our 20s" and strive to make products that keep skin looking young and healthy. Though this brand ethos sounds incredibly insulting to someone like me who is closer to 40, I understand what they mean in that my skin was at its smoothest and bounciest in my mid 20s. Though 23 Years Old has a number of sheet masks, the Inthera Silfitting Petit Mask (I still don't understand the name of it...) is the weirdest sheet mask I have ever tried!

Purchased by me

This mask contains Anemarrhena Asphodeloides root extract, a skin conditioning agent, and hyaluronic acid (both in good amounts on the ingredients list!) to improve skin elasticity using what they call a "silfitting sheet". I have Googled this term and I still can't figure out if there is an actual definition, but I am starting to believe that this is a completely made up term. The only information I can find is on Maskepedia saying that the idea behind this mask is that a silfitting sheet will "lift up" the skin.

You can see that this isn't even a sheet. It's like fishing wire and does not lie flat even though the package had a ton of essence. The mask is so non-existent that there is no essence for the mask to soak up!

Ingredients: Water, Methylpropanediol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Anemarrhena Asphodeloides Root Extract, Chitosan, Sodium Hyaluronate, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Caprylyl Clycol, Trehalose, Adenosine, Ammonium Acryloyldimethylaurate/VP Copolymer, Polysorbate 20, Butylene Glycol, Big-PEG-18 Methyl Ether Dimethyl Silane, Cellulose Gum, Ethyhexyglycerin, Ethyl Hexandeiol, Disodium EDTA

Mask Summary:

Price: $6
Scent: Herbal
Essence Type: Gel
Duration: 10-20 minutes
Thickness: Thin, but really this mask is just netting
Mask Fit: It hurt! The spiky bits poked into my eye and some areas never sat flush to my skin
Tackiness: High
Hydration: Very good
Other notes: LOTS of essence left in packet since this isn't a sheet mask with tons of surface area to have essence "grip" to it. When I washed off what felt like an inch of essence off my face the next morning,  had my husband feel my skin and he said it felt so soft and buttery so there ya go. This mask actually did something nice for my skin despite the experience being mostly uncomfortable!

Final verdict: Yes, the results were very nice and I had some of the smoothest skin I have felt in my life, but I found the mask so uncomfortable and annoying to wear that I would not purchase this again. I have never wanted a full sheet mask on my face so much in my life and even though I have ZERO regrets about trying this out because it looked interesting, I will be leaving this mask in the mask graveyard!
