I rarely seek out lightweight moisturizers as my skin is generally normal/dry, but this summer my skin was craving a lighter moisturizer with high spreadability and absorbed quickly. We didn't get too much of a heat wave, but with the layers of setting spray and longwear foundation I have been wearing during the day, I have been hyper aware of my skin and aiming to keep my layers thin and making sure things feel as breathable as possible! All of these moisturizers I am about to share with you are also perfect for underneath makeup and don't mess with your foundation!

Tula Aqua Infusion Oil-Free Gel Cream*
Note that Tula changed all of their packaging last year and I got this just prior to that, but I think this is now called the "Dew Your Thing Oil-Free Gel Cream". This has the probiotic strain Lactococcus Ferment Lysate, lactic acid, aloe vera, fermented rice water, watermelon fruit extract all of which are intended to hydrate, soothe and calm the skin for up to 72 hours (but who doesn't wash their face within 24?). This gel formula has a very mild scent and vanishes into the skin in a flash leaving a satin smooth finish.
Lancome Hydra Zen Anti-Stress Glow Liquid Moisturizer*
I will start by saying that the only thing I am not a huge fan of when it comes to this moisturizer is the fragrance (strong rose scent), but that being said, it does go away fairly quickly upon application and has become one of my favourite daytime moisturizers as it leaves my skin more glowy than the Tula one because it is not a gel, but shea butter and plant oil-based lotion. There are no silicones in this moisturizer so you don't get that slick, primer sensation, but the finish is still not tacky. I tend to use this moisturizer on light or no makeup days as there are a number of hydrating ingredients that make you think this will be a heavy on the skin, but it is surprisingly lightweight. This is a product I might even carry over to the colder season because of its efficacy!
Kiehl's Calendula Serum-Infused Water Cream*
This moisturizer is infused with calendula and is intended to soothe redness and hydrate skin. This has silicones in it so the texture is smooth and you will be left with a smooth finish to the skin that is again perfect for makeup prep and sealing in moisture. It also has a really nice lemon scent that perks me up in the mornings and makes me feel happy which is important as I NEVER want to wake up and get ready for work at 7am. I'm just not a morning person at all and I wish I were! It does not feel heavy and a 50mL jar like this is going to last quite awhile as the formula is very spreadable so I just apply a few dots on my face and I'm good to go!
First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Barriair Cream
I know this is probably just a gimmick, but the texture of this BarriAIR cream is pretty cool! It's not just whipped, but has pockets of bubbles throughout which actually makes application feel like you are literally rubbing little bubbles on your skin! I know it sounds strange, but as you rub it feels oddly satisfying. While this moisturizer is silicone-free, it dries down smooth and also contains ceramides and multi-molecular weight HA so don't let the bubbles fool you into thinking this won't be hydrating!
Farmacy Honey Drop Lightweight Moisturizer*
I love honey, propolis and multi-molecular weight HA all which are in this moisturizer and at the top of the ingredients list so already the ingredients are winning me over, but the texture and the way it leaves my skin feeling is pretty fantastic too! This is a lightweight, gel-cream moisturizer with little gold beads of cupuaçu butter that absorb quickly into the skin leaving it hydrated and most importantly, not sticky and uncomfortable. Bonus for the packaging as the lid is magnetic and comes with a metal spatula that sticks right on so you don't have to worry about losing the spoon!
What have you been using as your summer moisturizer? Have you been using one with built in SPF or using a separate moisturizer and sunscreen? Have a great long weekend everyone and I will see you all back here for Sheet Mask Sunday!
