SHEET MASK | FaceTory Oh My Goodness Rejuvenating Snail Mask

Some of you know that I recently stopped my FaceTory subscription for a number of reasons - mainly because this was a financially unjustifiable expense with everything that has happened this year and also because I can probably not buy sheet masks for a few years and still be able to do a few rounds of #100DaysofSheetMasks in addition to my regular sheet mask usage! Though I have never actually done an inventory count of what I have, I'm pretty sure my sheet mask count is more than 500 which doesn't even sound like much to me even though I know that logically it's a huge number! Suffice it to say, I realized that I didn't NEED to spend more a sheet mask subscription even though FaceTory has an amazing selection of masks I always love and have never tried. One of the masks I used during this sheet mask challenge that I had received in one of my FaceTory boxes was the Oh My Goodness Rejuvenating Snail Mask! We all love a good snail mask and this one was no exception!

 Purchased by me

Snail extract is naturally very soothing in addition to being hydrating without feeling greasy hence its use in skincare. Years ago, I remember seeing a news segment on snails and one "snail expert" even said that ingesting the slime would be beneficial and then proceeded to pick up a snail and LICK THE BOTTOM OF IT on camera. It was almost oddly sexual to watch and still lives in my mind as one of the more disturbing images in my memory! There will be no snail-licking here only sheet masks so do not fear!

This is a rayon sheet material which stretches and flexes nicely with the curves of my chin and jaw line. It also held essence well and felt soft on my skin. It was really quite comfortable to wear!

With regards to ingredients, the only thing that I don't like is that the preservative phenoxyethanol is in a higher concentration than the actual snail extract, but it doesn't look like it's by much.

Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Propylene Glycol, Trehalose, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Carbomer, Triethanolamine, Snail Secretion Filtrate, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Betaine, Sodium Hyaluronate, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba Seed Oil), Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Water, Glyceryl Stearate, Allantoin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Polysorbate 60, Xanthan Gum, Disodium EDTA, Tocopheryl Acetate, Fragrance

Mask Summary:

Price: $2.50 USD
Skin concerns: Inflammation, anti-aging, dryness
Scent: Lightly floral
Essence Type: Light and milky
Duration: 15-20 min
Thickness: Thin
Mask Fit: Very good, but maybe a bit short on forehead and long on sides of face. Good fit on chin though as there were nice big slits to fold underneath.
Tackiness: Light and remains a bit tacky for hours upon removal. It's tolerable.
Hydration: Good
Other notes: N/A

Final verdict: Even though this mask left a tacky residue, I liked the overall experience of fit, scent and hydration. I felt like my skin looked very even with less redness in my cheeks than before applying the mask. This mask is also relatively inexpensive even with the exchange so maybe once I see how 2020 goes in terms of my mask usage, I might look into ordering more of this mask next year!
