Shoppers Drug Mart | Birthday Goodies

I don’t know if I’m just crazy, but I chose to get a bulk of birthday goodies from none other than Shoppers Drug Mart. There was a redemption and bonus points event the weekend of my birthday so I definitely used it as an excuse to say “Happy Birthday to Me”! I hope that the points system doesn’t change with the new Loblaws ownership…points are the main reason I shop at Shoppers because their prices aren’t exactly the lowest for many of the products they carry. Fingers crossed things don’t change too much!

Lancome Hypnose Drama Alber Elbaz Limited Edition

I posted a picture of this mascara on my Instagram because I was way too excited about the packaging. I believe it is $2 more than the regular packaging at $34. I am tempted to keep this tube long after I have finished using it. I feel like I should frame it! As for the mascara itself, I like the regular Hypnose mascara and a friend recommended the drama version which is my lashes can always use!

Guerlain Colour Lacquer in Rouge D’Enfer 121

Hello to my most expensive nail polish in the collection at a totally ridiculous $26! I will never spend this much again on a polish, but this beautiful, sexy red polish deserved it. From what my francophone fiance says, the translation of this polish colour is “Inferno/Hell Red” OR in colloquial language, when used as an adjective, it also means “Awesome Red”. Very appropriate!

Clinique A Different Nail Enamel in Indie Rock

My first polish in the new hypoallergenic Clinique line. I already own many of the colours in this collection so I chose this colour that has a shimmer to it. The other colours were creams so Indie Rock  really stood out.

Stila Jewel Eye Shadow in Citrine

I saw one of the Beauty Boutique girls wearing it and it was gorgeous on her. Lots of shimmer, but with little fallout. She was raving about it which obviously made me pick one up for myself! I’ll review this shadow later because it’s so pretty and doesn’t have the same fallout that the Urban Decay Moondust Eyeshadows seem to have.

Nuxe “The Essentials” Kit

This was such an amazing price at $15 for $34 worth of product! Included in this kit is: Micellar Cleansing Water, Youth and Radiance Revealing Fluid, Multipurpose Dry Oil, Hand and Nail Cream and Fondant Shower Gel. I have never used any Nuxe products before so when I saw the starter kit, I knew it would be the perfect opportunity!

Nuxe Reve de Miel Ultra Nourishing Lip Balm

I have been on the lookout for this since last Fall as it was recommended by many bloggers as a hydrating and orange chocolate-smelling lip balm. A few weeks ago, during the points event, I saw ONE and it is now all mine! It smells just as yummy as everyone says and is very hydrating.

Pantene Ultimate 10 BB Cream

So yes, this is a BB Cream for your hair! This was a “must-try” I saw in one of the fashion magazines (LOU LOU or Flare) and claims to give hair a healthy, silky smooth finish with just 1-2 pumps on dry or damp hair. Just leave in and style as usual! I am incredibly curious to see whether this will work! Keep you posted!

Origins Smoothing Salt Body Scrub

I am loving the Ginger Scrub version of this and wanted to give the salt body scrub a try as this has a much lighter scent.

Lancome Light Pearl Eye Illuminating Youth Activating Concentrate

I will admit that I only really wanted this because of the rounded, tear-shaped applicator. I haven’t tried this yet, but I have high hopes for it considering how expensive it was!

Givenchy Dahlia Noir L’eau

This is such a fresh scent and much lighter than the original Dahlia Noir which is why I had to pick it up! The top notes are citrus and neroli which lead into a floral heart of rose petals. The base notes are composed of patchouli, cedar and musk. This isn’t my typical scent as rose it hit or miss for me, but fortunately this is a hit!

Maybelline Color Show Nail Polish in Pretty in Polka

Out of the whole polka dot collection, this was the only colour that really popped out and even now I’m not completely sold on the milky base…

L’Oreal Nail Polish in Riviere Amethyst

I will admit that I picked this up because I needed another $6 to meet the redemption quota, but it’s actually quite pretty! Gotta love sparkles!

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencil in Mushroom

I love the power eye shadow version of this and these chubby pencils are my favourite to use because of their staying power and ease of use. Mushroom is another neutral brown that I apparently HAD to have ;-)

And those are the birthday goods! I will admit that there MAY be a Sephora haul coming as well…stay tuned!
