MAKEUP | New Givenchy Gloss Interdit Vinyl in Rose and Noir Revelateur

From Grade 9 to my first year of university, I pretty much had one lipstick look - a nude/blush coloured lipstick topped off with a clear sticky gloss. Preferably one that had sparkles in it and I am pretty sure it all started with that one Bonne Bell lipgloss I found in the beauty aisles of London Drugs. I have since graduated from my Bonne Bell days, but that habit of lipstick plus a glossy lip topper is still embedded in my beauty habits. Sometimes you really like the lipstick you have on, but you just want your lips to look extra kissable! Though the Gloss Interdit Vinyl lipglosses come in some seriously intense colours (I just ordered Gangsta Nude!), Givenchy released three made-to-measure colour boosting shades that can be worn alone or on top of lipstick to enhance the intensity and I have two of them to share with you today!

MAKEUP | Givenchy Lunar New Year Collection #LunarFebruary

How many of you are celebrating the Lunar New Year with friends and family this weekend? In my last post, I had mentioned how nostalgic I felt this year with memories of intimate family dinners, but this year, we are all doing our own thing so messages via text are as close as it will get this year in addition to a message from my dad to have kids soon as that he can spoil them with red pockets. Subtle Dad, subtle.

Many of you may have seen the beautiful Lunar New Year products that have come out, but I have to say that the prettiest pieces I have seen this year come from Givenchy with their Prisme Libre Loose Powder and Le Rouge Intense Color Lipstick! Not only are these pieces red, but feature a stunning silver-embossed genuine printed leather! 

BEAUTY | Givenchy Noir Interdit Mascara (Will This Work on My Baby Asian Lashes?)

I don't often review mascara because let's face it, although there are many pros to being Asian (Hello Kitty, magical math abilities and looking 15 years old until you're 60), as a people we just don't have much in the way of lashes. They are almost always thin, short and in most cases slope downward. No matter the mascara, it's hard to see a difference when you don't really have a good lash foundation to begin with!

I do like weird beauty things though. I like finding out if a product is truly innovative or if it's just gimmicky especially if it's a $38 mascara like the new Noir Interdit* from Givenchy! With a new 90° bendable brush for ultimate lift to give a complete lash extension effect, so let's see whether it works!

Shoppers Drug Mart | Birthday Goodies

I don’t know if I’m just crazy, but I chose to get a bulk of birthday goodies from none other than Shoppers Drug Mart. There was a redemption and bonus points event the weekend of my birthday so I definitely used it as an excuse to say “Happy Birthday to Me”! I hope that the points system doesn’t change with the new Loblaws ownership…points are the main reason I shop at Shoppers because their prices aren’t exactly the lowest for many of the products they carry. Fingers crossed things don’t change too much!

February 2013 One Year Anniversary Glossybox

One year of Glossybox has arrived and this is truly a box worthy of a one year anniversary. I still remember being on the email list and finding out that FINALLY, Glossybox was coming to Canada! There have been some ups and downs this past year with Glossybox, but I still consider myself loyal and will continue our beauty box romance for the time being.

November 2012 Empties!

With November favourites come November empties, so let’s get this empties party started shall we?! I wasn’t too good about the full sized products, but I did get through my samples which always gives me a nice boost of “you can do it!”
