One of my favourite things about every Mary Kay collection is the Eye Color Palettes because the shadows are buttery and deliciously pigmented. The colours are almost always beautifully coordinated for the season and can make any woman feel like she knows what's she's doing when it comes to putting together a cohesive eye look (see my past reviews here). For this Fall 2015 season, Mary Kay has put together a colour collection inspired by the metropolitan shades of a big city. This year, the Eye Color Palettes come in two shades: City Sophisticate* ($26.00 CDN) and Metro Modern* ($26.00 CDN). Since I have really been digging the smoky eye lately, I chose to showcase Metro Modern and who can say no to that gorgeous shimmery chocolate brown!
Apologies for the slightly messy swatches. I was outside and it was VERY cold. The shimmery chocolate brown is an absolutely beautiful shade with the matte brown making a good liner shade. Even the silver, which I expected to be either sheer or have some major fallout did not disappoint.
GET THE LOOK!
Face:
Mary Kay Endless Performance Creme to Powder Foundation in Ivory 2 *
Brows:
Dior Diorshow Universal Brow Styler in #002 Universal Dark Brown*
Eyes:
Apply Mary Kay Eye Primer* followed by the shimmery brown shade from the Metro Modern Eye Color Palette* all over the lid.
Take the matte brown shade and use that to "smoke" out the eye colour into the corner and up into the crease.
Use the dark blue shade to line the lower lash line and then softly blend with a smudger brush.
Using a pointed eyeshadow brush, take the silver shade and apply to the inner corner of the eye.
Line lower waterline with a black eyeliner and upper lash line with a black liquid liner.
Add mascara and your favourite criss-cross false lashes. I'm using a Korean brand with the only English words being "Secret Star Girl"

Final verdict: LOVE this palette, babyyyy! I love that chocolate brown and the midnight blue. Pigmentation was awesome, wear time was the whole day with primer. What more could I ask for?! In fact, I really love the whole Fall collection so I will try to share some more about it this week as it's the last week to purchase any of the Fall items.
