MAKEUP | NYX Cosmetics Cosmic Metals Lip Cream Review with Lip Swatches

Why oh why have I put off trying these NYX Cosmic Metals Lip Creams* for so long?! These were THE hot item over the summer when NYX released a whackload of new shades of Liquid Suedes in addition to the Cosmic Metals and though I swatched a few of the more fun shades, I never included them in a full look until now! Oilslick hair has given me a crazy new confidence to try all sorts of new colours and it is ridiculous how much fun it has been!

I have all 11 Cosmic Metals shades to share with you today and though I tried to swatch them on my lips, they started to burn and freak out four shades in, so I stopped at seven of my favourite/most interesting shades which will hopefully still make you want to run out and grab a few shades!

Coming with a furry doe foot applicator, application of even the darkest shades was fairly painless and even with my pointy cupid's bow, I managed to get clean edges.

Ultraviolet was probably my favourite shade. I loved the purple and how dark it was. This is one shade that I will be wearing out!

Celestial Star
was another gorgeous shade and is a cool indigo blue that I might need to
be a little braver for to wear outside, but oh man will it be epic when that day comes!

Oh, I guess I have another favourite with Dark Nebula! This is what I would describe as a dark teal and was another fun one to wear.

Out of this World
looked better in the tube than on my lips. I found it far too light and didn't do much for my skintone or teeth.

Fuchsia Fusion
seemed like just a metallic version of some of the crazy pink glosses I already own. It had almost a streak of silver that made it glow on the lips upon application which really made it stand out!

I am still on the fence about Asteroid Aura. Maybe I need too switch up the makeup, but I wasn't in love with this shade on me even though as a nail colour, I would wear this every day if could!

Finally, Galactic is a dark grey that again, I wasn't as in love with as I though I would be. It was pigmented, but maybe I was expecting a more intense level of coverage. I think if I were to wear a black or grey lip, I would prefer an opaque, but matte finish.

Final verdict:
These are such winners for $10 each! Every shade was pigmented and applied fairly evenly with the darker blue and purple shades being my favourite. These are so much fun and though they aren't transferproof, the colour stays intact with mild lip contact. Highly recommended for someone looking to amp up their colour game!
