MAKEUP LOOK | MAKE UP FOR EVER 50 Shades of Grey Desire Me Cheeky Blush Trio Review, Swatches & Handcuffs

I could not resist bringing out these handcuffs again which I swear I ONLY bought for 50 Shades of Grey photo purposes and NOTHING else. Really! I have mentioned before that I wasn’t a huge fan of the books and as gimmicky as some of the 50SoG paraphernalia is, I WILL make an exception for MAKE UP FOR EVER because no matter the theme, the products never disappoint as is the case with the Desire Me Cheeky Blush Trio*($56.00 CDN, but a $128 value). The trio is composed of three Artist Shadows and a travel-sized Artisan Brush #150, which is so adorable. Although the Artist Shadows are mostly labelled as eyeshadows, there are some actual blushes amongst the 200+ shades! Granted they can all be used either on the eyes or cheeks so with the Cheeky Blush Trio, we can all have Ana’s innocent, girly glow.

Did I mention that everything comes in this velvety keepsake pouch? I guess I now have a place to store those handcuffs…

The set also comes with three looks and instructions on how to achieve each. I attempted to create the one on the right.

All three swatch beautifully, but are not quite as buttery as some of the other Artist Shadows I have. I think this comes down to pigment though and cannot really be helped. Kind of like how certain nail polish colours will always be streaky, no matter the brand.

Final Verdict: The value of this kit is INCREDIBLE seeing as how each Artist Shadow is $24! It’s unfortunate that it was so sunny when I took the photos that my cheeks look like they have barely any colour on them, but the arm swatches were taken in overcast and are true to colour. The three shades included in the cheeky blush trio are perfect on their own or for creating a more three dimensional look. I-526 would be more like a highlighter, but was VERY light on me so I feel like I would be using the other two shades much more, especially the coral. The coral was very buildable and even when I went a little gung-ho with the first swipe, I was able to blend until I looked like less of a clown. All in all, a lovely little blush kit!

Who went and saw the 50 Shades of Grey movie?
