MAKEUP | Creme de la Creme Bespoke Beauty Made in Alberta

I remember thinking how awesome it was when the Bite Beauty lab let people create their own customized lip colour and how you could watch and be a part of that process from beginning to end. Until recently, I had no idea that Creme de la Creme existed and that they are a brick and mortar store right in Sherwood Park, Alberta where you can go in, sit down and make not just a lipstick, but eyeshadows too! In times like these where we are all trying to support local Canadian and local businesses, I loved this concept and thought only "cool cities" like NYC would have stores like Creme de la Creme, but there you go! In addition to the bespoke part of their business, Creme de la Creme also has products available for purchase online (also made in Alberta), and I am assuming in-store, which I was fortunate enough to get a chance to try and review for you. I even managed to put together a little makeup look that I thought turned out fairly well!

Green Apple and Pear Lip Buff*
Creme de la Creme Bespoke Beauty

I've come to realize that lip scrub formulas are generally fairly similar with some possibly having more shea butter or oils in them than others, but the main reason I buy a lip scrub is for the scent! I tend to load up on Lush Lip Scrubs with every new release because I cannot get enough of the different flavours! When I saw that this scrub was a blend of green apple and pear, I knew it would smell so good and it DOES! The lip scrub formula is dense, but not grainy and feels soft on the lips during application.

Nail Gloss in Truffle*

I featured this nail polish in my ManiMonday two weeks ago and found the formula to be glossy and opaque in two coats. The brush was controllable and I really had no complaints! Their polishes retail for $15 and are 5-free.

Faux Naturale Faux Ever and Ever Lashes*

Creme de la Creme has a number of lash options ranging from Au Naturale, which are made with 100% sterilized human hair, to the ones I have here which are made from synthetic silk fibers. While this style might look good on others, I felt like it was a bit too big for my eye size and overpowered my face. I generally prefer my lashes to be light and fluffy and these felt a bit stiffer than what I am used to, BUT they did look good in photos.

Eyeshadow Singles in Sugar Box* and Apricot*

Both eyeshadows were quite pigmented (even the matte shade Apricot) upon swatching with the sparkly shade Sugar Box sheering out when I started to apply it to my lids. I used my finger to pack on the sparkle and it seemed to act as more of a top coat for the base shadow underneath. Both formulas felt soft and smooth and I would not hesitate to get more shades, but I do wish there were actual arm swatches on the website for someone like me who will not be going to Alberta anytime soon!

Velvet Lip Creme in Knock Out* and Lip Glace in Plump*

Starting with the Velvet Lip Creme, the applicator is pure gold and provides me with the precision I need to apply a pigmented matte lip PERFECTLY. The formula is super lightweight and dries fairly quickly. There is VERY little transfer and this is now one of the liquid lipsticks I wear to work because it does not budge with mask-wearing. I thought it would be too brown on me, but it turns out this is a great neutral for me!

The Lip Glace collection is comprised of plumping lip oils that use the ingredient methyl nicotinate to increase circulation to the lips so you will experience a warming sensation. I had to look up the plumping ingredient because I get allergic reactions to lip plumpers that use cinnamon. My lips stay plump for days and then become itchy which is really not a good thing so no cinnamon for me! The formula of the lip oil is smooth, lightweight, fairly hydrating and in this shade, adds a touch of sheer colour to my lips.

I figured showing you how the Velvet Lip Creme looked on me would be more interesting than the Lip Glace so here are the lashes, eyeshadows and lips all together!

Final verdict: For me, the formula and shade of the Velvet Lip Creme was really the winner for me and I am already planning out a purchase for later this Fall for more shades. Pricing is on the luxurious side so I had some high standards, but luckily the formulas held up and for products made in Canada, I don't mind paying a little bit more. If any of you are close to Sherwood Park (I'm guessing Edmonton?), definitely pop in to Creme de la Creme and let me know how it goes because I would love to know what the full experience is like!

You can find Creme de la Creme at www.maisoncremedelacreme.com and at their physical location in Sherwood Park, Alberta!
