SHEET MASK | 23 Years Old Rose Gold 24 Mask #LunarJanuary

Here we are halfway through January already! I got to take a couple of days off this week thanks to a few vacation days that needed to be used up (in retail you are not allowed to go on vacation during the peak shopping times from Nov-Dec) which was nice and a much needed break. I am still not quite back mentally where I would like to be, but I have been devising a strategy for how to deal with stress and anxiety in the workplace as I have realized that the only that can change is me. My environment will always be one way so I either need to adapt or get out and I don't feel like doing the latter (though I constantly toy with the idea of becoming a LEGO "Brick Specialist").

Korean skincare brand 23 Years Old has generally had some amazing masks with the only strange one being their Inthera Silfitting Petit Mask (like what WAS that?) and this Rose Gold 24 Mask seems to be a hybrid of the strange and luxurious! What makes this mask unique? Well, it cover the MOUTH and neck so get ready to be quiet for at least 20 minutes! It also hydrates with rose water and rose fruit oil as well as calms the skin with Centella asiatica or cica so all in all a very soothing mask to use if your skin is feeling dry and a little upset.

 

Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Dipropylene Glycol, Rosa Centifolia Flower Water, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Butylene Glycol, Centella Asiatica Extract, Paeonia Suffruticosa Root Extract, Polysorbate 60, 1,2-Hexanediol, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Glyceryl Stearate, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Glyceryl Caprylate, Polyglyceryl-3 Methylglucose Distearate, Carbomer, Ethylhexylglycerin, Potassium Hydroxide, Sodium Polyacrylate, Gardenia Florida Fruit Extract, Methyl Glucose Sesquistearate, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Rose Flower Oil, Gold, Disodium EDTA

I actually did not look at the diagram very closely and did not notice that this mask covered the mouth as well! When I unfolded the mask, I was very surprised at how much material there was! This mask even covers the upper neck area so your face is truly cocooned inside. The mask material is thick, but feels soft and luxurious and had a ton of essence soaking in it which I think is necessary if you are going to have a neck portion to a sheet mask.

Skin concerns: Dryness

Scent: Refreshing like rain or cotton

Essence Type: Cream

Duration: 20 minutes, but I left it on for 40 minutes with no problems!

Thickness: The mask material is on the thicker side, but it did hold a lot of essence and was very smooth and silky on the skin.

Mask Fit: The area around the nose could have been better or I could have cut some slits so that the mask rested on my skin. The chin area kept lifting.

Tackiness: Light

Hydration: Good! You will not feel like adding more moisturizer on top and my lips actually felt super plush!

Other notes: Be prepared to not speak for AWHILE!

Final verdict: This is another special treatment mask for me as I find masks that cover the lips and/or neck a bit more "intense" than traditional ones especially when you cannot speak. You don't realize how valuable moving your mouth is until you can't! While the fit wasn't perfect, I also understand that it is a slightly unconventional mask which is why I would purchase it again should it ever become available (why are all the masks I like gone?!) as I liked how plush my lips felt and of course how hydrated my skin felt. I also quite liked the scent!

I got the 23 Years Old Rose Gold 24 Mask from a little Korean store in Montreal so now I don't know where I will find something similar to this!
