I hope everyone is having a great weekend! It's shaping up to be a nice, sunny day today so I am looking forward to having a nice long walk with my husband today. Something we try to do every Sunday though I know that when it's raining or I have had a particularly tiring week, I tend to be very grumpy when we do them. I am counting on being a better mood tomorrow as the last few days have been socially draining, but in a positive way. I am just an introvert who needs to recharge so I am hoping to feel ready to go on Monday!

As my poor nails need to grow back in order to paint them (I sadly did not have any backup posts), I thought doing a cozy little favourites post would be nice to launch the Fall season!

I was so good about keeping up with my Sheet Mask Sunday posts and then I don't know what happened! I think I was super bummed out by what was happening down south and the issues it was causing all of us that it just didn't feel appropriate to talk about beauty stuff. Now, that things have settled down into a baseline state of uncertainty, my brain has adjusted to this "new norm" and I want to talk about skincare and makeup again. The sunshine is also helping now that Vancouver is well into Spring (sorry people out East with your snow) so potentially you might see more regular posting from me now because I miss it here!

It's hard to believe that I have not written a blog post in 2 weeks, but honestly this month just whizzed right on by! One minute it felt like the beginning of February and now we are at the end and it has been a very busy month! I have also preferred doing Pixyls and diamond painting in my free time rather than blogging hence the lack of posts this month as the struggle has been REAL to sit down and talk about beauty. Also, the world is kind of crap right now which is further added to me just wanting to retreat into my little hobby hole.

Happy Sunday! I know I am starting to sound like a broken record, but how are we already at the end of January? For the 6 weeks, I have been using Reedle Shot 100 as the first step in my night time skincare routine and I have honestly noticed an actual improvement in my skin texture! I plan on doing a separate review for the Reedle Shot treatment, but this sheet mask is a start!

Sheet Mask | Top 8 of 2024 (Because I couldn't think of 10)

It has been eons since I have done a Top ANYTHING on the blog, but the one thing I know well are SHEET MASKS! After picking it up as part of my skincare routine in 2018, I have not stopped and though I don't do them every single day like before, I still manage to use at least 3-4 sheet masks/week making them a beauty product I am quite familiar with! While some of the sheet masks in this list aren't necessarily ones I discovered in 2024, all are masks that I try to have on hand all the time.

Who doesn't love an all-in-one skincare routine? I have always loved multi-step masks and this one from VT Cosmetics left my skin looking so even-toned right away and also took out the redness in my cheeks. The sheet mask material was cushion-like and soft making for a very comfortable sheet mask experience!

I had high hopes for blogging more this month, but working so much this season really took it out of me so I allowed myself some grace (and naps) to catch up. I have today to Sunday off so I think I will feel MUCH better by the time Monday rolls around. I started my day off with a Dior facial (which was glorious) and a little retail therapy at Holt Renfrew. I came home after fighting downtown traffic at noon (like WTF) and had to do some grocery shopping, having not been able to do any for the last 1.5 weeks, had lunch and then promptly fell asleep for an hour while watching The Good Place. All in all, a good start to recovery!

VT Cosmetics is not a new brand, but it has taken the skincare world by storm with their varying concentrations of Reedle Shot which I promise to review for you soon! Before starting Reedle Shot, I wanted to softly re-introduce myself to the brand starting with a series of new 3 step sheet masks (you know I LOVE a good multi-stepper!) the first of which focuses on soothing, smoothing and plumping.

SHEET MASK | VT Tofu Probiotic Mask

If there is a sheet mask with a food-related reference, I'm going to wear it plain and simple! I've always been very attracted to the idea of food and skincare and the notion that if it's good enough for your skin, it's good enough to eat (although I know this is VERY bad idea 99% of the time!). When I worked for Tata Harper, she often said that her products were good enough to eat and they even did it as a Christmas marketing promotion where everyone was passing around product to spread on toast! Tofu was always a very important food in my Asian household and one that I have recently rediscovered as a protein alternative when I don't feel like eating meat. We've been trying to do more vegetarian throughout the week, but unfortunately my husband is not a huge fan of this soybean derivative so I am left on my own when it comes to my tofu food adventures including the discovery of this VT Tofu Probiotics Mask at our local T&T!
