Early NOTW - "Flakie" Christmas

I don't normally change my nails before the week is up, but to be honest, my nails were a little too Christmasey for my liking to put up with them for an entire week so instead I switched it up so that I could FINALLY use my my new Nfu Oh Flakie!

It started off with China Glaze Holly-Day.

And then, I layered it with Nfu Oh 38.

After seeing countless others with this amazing flakie polish, I'm still amazed by how iridescent it is in certain lighting. In some angles the flakes look orange, in others, they appear green. And if I get the angle just right, I get the entire rainbow :-) This is a keeper for sure! I am now hooked on flakies!

November Luvs

This will be my first "luvs" post so I hope it's not too late to do a post on November favourites?

1. Skoah Skrubbin' Face Wash

After having my first facial last month, this has been a must have scrub for me! It was used on my skin during the facial and I had commented on how awesome it smelled (turns out it's pineapple) and how non-abrasive it felt on my dry skin. I have been using this scrub every other day and it has just enough grit to exfoliate my skin without having it feel like sandpaper. Another plus is this scrub is also paraben-free :-) If you haven't heard of Skoah before, they are a fairly new Canadian company with locations in Vancouver, Calgary and most recently Boston! You can also buy their products online with free shipping over $50 for Christmas!

2. Body Shop Peppermint Cooling Pumice Foot Scrub

After a long day on my feet, I love how good this feels on my feet. It's a gel-based foot scrub that uses pumice granules from volcanic rock to exfoliate callused feet. As you rub this on your feet, it sort of lathers up a little which is kind of fun. Another reason I love this scrub (on my second one already!) is that my feet feel so refreshed from the community trade peppermint oil and menthol in it. If you're someone who loves the scent of authentic peppermint, you'll love this!

3. Lancome Hypnose Doll Lashes Mascara

This mascara was featured in my very first blog entry as part of a Shoppers Redemption Haul and I didn't think I'd actually use it that much because I thought it was too much for everyday. Boy, was I wrong! Turns out, I DO like having big, long doll-like lashes!

4. Burberry Brit Eau De Parfum

This is one of my favourite scents in the Winter because I love the warmth of vanilla in colder weather. This was actually the very first perfume that I bought on my own because I loved the scent of vanilla and icy pear. Other notes in Burberry Brit include: italian lime, green almond, white peony, sugared almonds, amber, mahogany and tonka bean.

I hope this post makes sense because between work and studying, I feel like a zombie...
Enjoy!

Quo By Orly 18 Piece Mini Nail Polish Set

Again, this was before Project 10 Pan so don't judge me!! I picked this up during a Shopper Point Redemption Event at the beginning of October and never got around to telling you about it! Also, I know it's customary to do swatches of nail polish if I'm going to show a haul, but with 18 colours...I can't do that to my hands and nails. I guess I could moisturize like crazy or paint one of each colour on my nails, but honestly, I hate removing polish when it's a perfectly wearable application that could last a week! I feel like I'm almost wasting it...crazy I know since we all know that we could NEVER finish a whole bottle of nail polish in our lifetime!

Anyway, when I saw this 18 piece number, I could not have squealed more! I didn't know that Quo had nail polish and was pleasantly surprised to see that it was by Orly. With any type of palette or nail polish gift set, there are always colours that won't get as much use as others, but with this palette, I truly thought ALL of the colours were beautiful!

So, you can see that the bottle size is fairly close to the mini OPI polish size and obviously quite  bit smaller than a full-size China Glaze bottle. All in all, I thought this was a great way to sample this new line of polishes and for $32, I couldn't complain!

NOTW: Christmas Presents Under The Tree!

Omigoodness, this was so hard to do. I have no idea why, but it took me two episodes of "How I Met Your Mother" and part of "Ip Man" to finish both hands! I enjoyed doing the gift boxes for my Birks design that I thought I'd try again with all sorts of different colours. The tree was probably the most difficult although I think if I had used acrylic paints, would be MUCH easier to do! Anyway, enjoy!

Makeup Pick Monday - Lise Watier Eye Glitter Liner

Now that the Christmas season is here, I'm sure I'm not the only glitter lover that is taking full advantage of incorporating glitter into my everyday makeup routine, whether it'd be in nail polish, lip gloss or eyeshadow. My go-to eyeliner for the week has been Lise Watier's Eye Glitter Liner is Smokey Gold ($18). Actually, I constantly sneak this in throughout the year, but now I wear it all the time guilt-free! It has a similar skinny applicator brush to the liquid eyeliner I reviewed from last week making glitter application relatively simple and precise.

My camera just never wants to focus on the super skinny brush!

This is probably one of my favourite glitter eyeliner colours because I usually wear mostly brown  eyeshadows so gold glitter is always a nice way to punch up otherwise neutral-looking eyes. The other day, a client at work told me that she couldn't quite focus on what I was telling her because she was distracted by the glitter on my eyes! The colour payout is good although you will probably have to re-line your eyes a few times since there can only be so much glitter on a brush that thin. Overall, this is another product that I'd always like to have in my makeup collection because I can use it all year and spruces up any neutral eye makeup I have on!

Crazy Cat Corner

I used to have three kitty babies, Yoshi, Snow and Silver, but Silver lives with my mom now since three cats is a lot to take care of and I feel like two cats is ok, but that third one classifies you as a "crazy cat lady". It all worked out though because Silver has never liked being with other cats and is loving getting all the attention :-) This is my FAVOURITE picture of him because he LOOKS like an angel, but he's really a bit of a jerk! A friend of mine titled this picture: Fluffy - Destroyer of Worlds.

He's 15 years old, so an old bugger, but he's still just as pretty as ever!
