I am on a total vegan beauty kick right now and have decided to delve further into the vegan beauty box world with Vegan Cuts which has either a Beauty or Snack Box. I opted for the beauty box as vegan snacks are plentiful where I live and beauty is just so much more exciting than food!
This is a monthly subscription that costs $23.95 for Canadians including shipping ($8) while Americans will pay just $19.95. Vegan Cuts says that each beauty box will be worth at least $35 which is cutting it pretty close for what Canadians have to pay, but I liked what I received this month so I’ll give this box a little more time before I make a decision. The product card that is included does not have pricing which I find a bit annoying as I feel boxes should be honest in their values and have them right in our faces.
Pacifica | Coconut Kiss Creamy Lip Butter in Lava
Creamy, coconut-infused lip butter that hydrates while adding a sheer red hue to your lips.
Thoughts: Ah, Pacifica. I love their packaging and the fact that I have been able to try a bit of everything of theirs through various beauty boxes. I have yet to get a repeat product! This lip butter looks so good and the colour is quite sheer. The texture is a little stiff so you have to heat it up a bit with your finger.
Full size: 6.6g/$10.00
I received: *FULL SIZE*
Free by Chandler Farm | Hand Creme in Cranberry Mandarin
Luxurious hand cream that leaves skin feeling soft and smelling delicately fragranced.
Thoughts: This is a lot of hand cream! The scent sounds nice (it’s sealed so I can’t smell it) and I am actually looking forward to trying this out!
Full size: 3oz/$8.95
I received: *FULL SIZE*
Greenbody | Tea Tree and Rosemary Deodorant
Handcrafted deodorant that is moisturizing and aluminum-free.
Thoughts: For some reason, I am definitely into eco deodorant mainly because I was using just a plain salt stick before. This looks just like a lip balm and smells like tea tree oil more than rosemary. I am really excited to try this out and test out its odor-fighting power!
Full size: 2.5oz/$9.00
I received: 0.15oz/$0.54
Whipped hair paste made of organic botanicals, including aromatic lemon peel and invigorating peppermint.
Thoughts: This smells divine. I wish it wasn’t a hair product though as I would never use something like this. It’s number one ingredient is shea butter so I don’t know how that will last all day with hair, but I’ll give it to my husband to try as a replacement for his regular pomades.
Full size: 2oz/$19.80
I received: 0.5oz/$4.95
Molly Rose | Lip Balm in Pickles and Ice Cream
Lip balms that combine natural ingredients to make deliciously inventive flavour combos.
Thoughts: Smells like dill more than ice cream, but I still really like it! The lip balm is super smooth and fairly hydrating. There is also a bacon lip balm…must have…
Full size: 4.25g/$5.00
I received: *FULL SIZE*
Birthed by Earth Candle Co. | Lemongrass
Light up for a little romance with this lemongrass-scented soy tealight candle.
Thoughts: Don’t we all love a good candle?
Full size: 8 tealights/$12.99
I received: 1 tealight/$1.62
Total value of February Vegan Cuts Box: $31.06
Hmmm, that is less than the promised $35 value although I did have to estimate how much was in the Yarok styling whip…I still thought the box was good despite the lower value. I am looking forward to the other boxes anyway and if the value doesn’t increase much more I might just stop it and stick with Petit Vour. I’ll keep you guys posted!00
