MAKEUP | MAC Limited Edition Vamplify Lipgloss in Hyperfabulous, Push Some Buttons and Speed Up Review with Swatches

All I can say is that these limited edition releases make me realize how fast time is flying by! It seems like not so long ago that I was at the MAC Cosmetics Fall preview back in July and only just hearing about the limited edition Vamplify Lipgloss Collection (5mL/$24.00 CDN). Touted to be MAC's most dramatic lipgloss yet, the formula contains colour-boosting pigments that promise rich, polished-looking colour for hours.

The doe foot applicator is ever so slightly longer than the conventional ones we have seen and while I initially thought the wand length was too long to apply colour precisely, the flexibility of the plastic made application very easy for a regular Jayne like myself.
When I swatched these during the preview I fell in love so hard. They feel slick, non-sticky and the colour payoff is incredibly rich and shiny. I rarely have to make more than one or two passes on my lips to get shockworthy colour. Like all non-sticky lipglosses, the Vamplify collection is NOT transferproof.

I received the shades
Speed Up*, a bright bubblegum pink, Hyperfabulous*, a dark mauve-brown and Push Some Buttons*, a bright orange-red (online exclusive). I'm sure you can guess which shades worked for me!

My favourite shade has to be Push Some Buttons! For such a bright colour, I felt so comfortable wearing it and is a shade I would recommend for everyone!

Hyperfabulous is a touch too dark for everyday wear for me, but if I feel like going vampy-nude then sure I'll pull this shade out.

Speed Up looks terrible on me, but for the sake of consistency I had to show you all what it looked like on my with respect to my skin tone because THIS is what close-up lip swatches don't tell you!

Final verdict:
With 17 colours available in the Vamplify range, you will be sure to find some favourites. I LOVE these and will be picking up a few more shades in more reds, fuchsias and lighter nudes. I know that sounds like I will be buying 10 colours, but I think it'll just be three! No, these don't have the staying power of other lipglosses, but the colour payoff is beautiful, they actually feel like the hydrate the lips and other than some very light feathering after 2 hours, I had no real issues with weartime. Now, let's go back to my favourite Vamplify shade: Push Some Buttons!
