Korean Beauty | Papa Recipe Bombee Honey Mask Review with "Melfie"

With the number of sheet masks I have tried, it is getting harder and harder to differentiate what is a GOOD and what is a GREAT mask. The sheet mask market is so saturated that it really comes down to the minute differences in mask fit, scent, ingredients, how you look in the mask (haha, I know!) and how it makes your skin feel. Generally, I haven't met a sheet mask that didn't make my skin feel good afterwards. What I really need to start doing is the full Korean beauty routine and using a sheet mask EVERY OTHER NIGHT which is apparently when you can start to see results. Seeing as how I have at least 100 sheet masks in my arsenal, I can probably do this for the rest of the year and still have masks to spare!

I have been watching a lot more YouTubers who focus more on Korean beauty products and a couple of months ago, I was watching meejmuse do an epic video on the best Korean sheet masks. If you haven't watched it, you should because I purchased a few of her recommendations and they were spot on! One of the masks she mentioned was the Papa Recipe Bombee Honey Mask*, which is in the Korean beauty world, a more natural sheet mask option as it is made from organic pulp for increased absorption and better fit to mimic skin. Not only does it smell like honey, but the essence actually contains honey extract (4th ingredient) and propolis extract aka bee resin (5th ingredient).

This mask is for all skin types and is especially recommended for those with dry, sensitive or flaky skin as honey and propolis have long been used as treatments for inflammation, minor wounds and as a natural antibacterial agent. Now, that I have done my introductory spiel, let the gushing begin!

Firstly, the scent was very light and honey-like that is quite appetizing. Immediately, I noticed the mask was softer, more plump than what I usually see. I peeled off the plastic layer and started to apply the actual mask to my face and noticed that the fit was fantastic! The pulp texture of the mask has a bit of stretch to it so I was able to stretch my way to a perfect fit! The chin is always the tell-tale sign of a good mask because inevitably, everyone always ends up with a "goatee" of sheet mask after the first few minutes.

Lemma tell ya, this mask is supposed to be left on for a solid 20-30 minutes and not ONCE did my chin become a goatee. Everything stayed exactly where I had applied it right up until my alarm beeped to take it off! That is the first time a mask has stayed on so well and t
he fit is one of the best I have experienced! You can also see my skin through the mask in my melfie which shows you how "skin-like" this mask really is!

After patting in the essence, the residue was a little sticky, but my skin felt firm. Like most sheet masks, I did not feel the need for moisturizer, but I put a light one on anyway out of habit.

Final verdict: You know what I just did prior to writing this verdict? I purchased a full box of 10. I would totally use this mask again just for the way it fit and the scent. In terms of pricing, this mask may be a little bit more pricey, but not by much. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with this mask and I hope some of you get a chance to try it out as well!
