SHEET MASK | 7th Heaven Superfood Sheet Masks in Avocado, Turmeric and Rice Protein

My love of sheet masks does not come with some guilt and that is because there is a ton of individual packaging that comes with a single use product so while I am not the ultimate recycler, I try really hard to compost, recycle and use reusable materials wherever I can. The beauty world is a tough one to be sustainable in and in many ways I have just accepted that my hobby and interest in this area is kind of a wasteful one. There is always going to be a lot of "stuff" in my life so it does feel good to use a product that is more kind to the environment like a biodegradable sheet mask! The 7th Heaven Superfood 24 Hour Hydration Sheet Masks are made of biodegradable bamboo with a vegan and cruelty-free formula and come in five delicious sounding flavours! I have three to share with you today so let's see how they did!

The Superfood 24 Hour Hydration collection is about, you guessed it, long lasting hydration with the formulas being 99% of natural origin and each mask containing a "superfood" skin-loving ingredient.

Avocado
7th Heaven Superfood Mask Avocado

Avocado oil is a favourite in skincare and is one that I enjoy seeing in facial oils. This featured ingredient is in the middle of the list which is fine, but what I noticed about all of the masks is that fragrance is in a higher concentration than the featured ingredient which I'm not a huge fan of.

7th Heaven Superfood Mask Avocado

Mask Summary (Avocado):

Price: $4.99 CDN

Skin concerns: Dryness

Scent: Very sweet. Stronger than I thought it would be, but not bad.

Essence Type: Clear and watery, but there was very little in the packet so I don't have a good idea of consistency.

Duration: 15-20 minutes

Thickness: Thick

Mask Fit: Really big and not good. See my last 7th Heaven sheet mask post here.

Tackiness: Zero and left my skin feeling silky smooth!

Hydration: I needed moisturizer for sure. This was the least hydrating of the trio.

Other notes: N/A

Turmeric
7th Heaven Superfood Mask Turmeric

I have always liked turmeric in my teas and skincare as it is an ingredient that is clarifying and revitalizing. Turmeric is found a little bit past the halfway point of the ingredients list.

7th Heaven Superfood Mask Turmeric

Mask Summary (Turmeric):

Price: $4.99 CDN

Skin concerns: Dullness, dryness, blemishes

Scent: Very sweet and not like turmeric. Stronger than I thought it would be, but not bad.

Essence Type: Clear and watery, but there was very little in the packet so I don't have a good idea of consistency.

Duration: 15-20 minutes

Thickness: Thick

Mask Fit: Really big and not good.

Tackiness: Zero and left my skin feeling silky smooth!

Hydration: I needed moisturizer, but not a heavy one.

Other notes: N/A

Rice Protein
7th Heaven Superfood Mask Rice Protein

This was my favourite of the group mainly because of scent and in terms of hydration was somewhere between Avocado and Turmeric. The rice protein is also at the halfway point of the ingredients list.

7th Heaven Superfood Mask Rice Protein

Mask Summary (Rice):

Price: $4.99 CDN

Skin concerns: Dullness and dryness

Scent: Sort of sweet and the best smelling of the group!

Essence Type: Cream, but there was so little in the packet that the mask was not soaked in certain areas.

Duration: 15-20 minutes

Thickness: Thick

Mask Fit: Really big and not good.

Tackiness: Zero and left my skin feeling silky smooth!

Hydration: Did not feel the need for moisturizer.

Final verdict: The fit of these masks just IRKS me so much because it's so obvious that they are so unnecessarily big and loose. The sheet mask fabric is a bit thick, but that could be because bamboo cannot be made thinner? I also believe that masks should be soaking in essence with some to spare and if I was new to the sheet masking world, I would have thought that these masks were dried up from the lack of product in certain areas. The results though? The lack of tackiness and super smooth skin means that the essence is at least of a decent formula so if 7th Heaven could just put MORE of it into the packet that would be MUCH better! Despite the mask fit, I would probably still pick up the Rice Protein mask if I see it on sale or if I'm looking for a mask that I know won't leave a tacky finish to my skin. Pricing is pretty reasonable so I'd say go for it!
