Even though there are no longer mandatory mask mandates, all of us at work still wear them because it's just easier. We don't need to wear them if a client is NOT wearing one, but our policy then goes on to say that if the interaction is going to be fairly long, we then need wear a mask. In our business, most of the interactions we have are going to be at least 15 minutes of continuous conversation so at this point, we are all so used to wearing masks that it is just easier to wear one! I have said previously that though I haven't been wearing foundation at work, I have been wearing a lot of tinted sunscreens or moisturizers. I was on the prowl a few months ago for products that gave my skin a bit of a boost without feeling heavy and are quick to apply in the morning. This led me to the very attractive-looking Caliray Freedreaming Skin Wellness Diffusing Tint!
There are only 10 shades of skin tint which seems a bit strange considering the climate we are in, but Zomnir says that each shade is very flexible and can cover a number of different skin tones. While I am fortunate to always have shades available to me, I don't know how true this statement actually is other than seeing photos on dark-skinned girls in Caliray promotional material.
The packaging squeezes like a tube, but stands up and looks pretty like a traditional foundation bottle. I didn't find the need to squeeze the product out though as it literally just FALLS out so be careful as all you really need to do is tip the bottle on its side. You only need a few drops as this formula is VERY spreadable and blendable and reminds me a lot of the La Roche Posay Tinted Mineral Sunscreen in terms of finish and texture. This is also the NON-OILY answer to anyone who wanted to like the Kosas Skin Tint more than they did as I just found it a bit too oily feeling unlike the Caliray version which dries down nicely without the use of any silicones.
You can see that initially, this tint looks very orange on my hand, but it does sheer out upon application to the skin. I was actually pretty torn between choosing #4 and #2 and I feel like I would have been good with #2 as well.

You can see the difference from before to after is subtle, but I tend to have redness around my nose and cheeks which you can see has disappeared after applying the tint. Overall, my skin just looks a little more flawless and it only took about 4-5 drops of product! With regards to longevity, this tint lasts easily the whole day. For work, I set my face multiple times with setting spray to make it last, but if I am just puttering around the house all day it lasts about 6 hours with some minor breakdown around my nose.
Final verdict: I like it. I don't LOVE it, but I like it. My main issue with this skin tint is that I have to pay attention to what sort of skincare I applied in my morning routine. I'm half asleep most of the time so I don't want to have to think about whether my easy breezy skin tint is going to play nice with my skincare. It does feel extremely lightweight on the skin to the point where I legit forget I am wearing any makeup! My most favourite thing about this product is the dry touch finish and how little of it I need. I hate a tacky feeling face so I tend to apply the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Loose Setting Powder on top because it has a silky finish, but I didn't need to with this Caliray tint. A part of me feels like my La Roche Posay Tinted Sunscreen is doing the same if not more for me since it is actually a sunscreen too, but this is still a solid product that does what it promises and is a great staple for summer makeup or a vacation!
