Starting in 2018, I started receiving press boxes from a recently closed company called Beauteque, which had a sheet mask and Korean beauty product subscription. They also had an online store that carried the brands they included in their subscription boxes where I have purchased a few hard-to-get sheet masks! Sadly, Beauteque ended up closing last year, but I was introduced to a number of sheet mask brands that I had never heard of and between my FaceTory subscription at the time, my avid consumerism and the 10-12 sheet masks I was receiving every month from Beauteque, I have a lot of masks to try and share with you! And to answer a question I get a lot, yes I most definitely still use masks that have expired as long as there is essence inside! I have never had an issue with a sheet mask smelling "off" and I think it is largely because sheet masks are so well-sealed that they have no oxygen getting in AND no light. The only issue I have had is the essence drying up which usually happens with masks that do not have a lot of excess serum to begin with.

One fun brand I was introduced was Korean brand Candy O'Lady which, from what I can see, had seven variations of "candy" masks packaged in these cute little brightly-coloured packets with colourful candy art on the front. The Mystic Potion Candy Mask focuses on moisture, nutrition and "activation" and contains niacinamide, glutathione, licorice root extract and Sophora flavescens root extract all of which act to brighten the skin and are in the top half of the ingredients list!

The mask itself is made of a thicker microfibre to accommodate for the thicker jelly-like essence, but still had an overall good fit.

Mask Summary:

Price: $3.99 USD

Skin concerns: Dullness, hydration

Scent: Sweet, but more on the floral side than candy side.

Essence Type: Thicker, clear jelly

Duration: 30 minutes - there was a lot of essence and whenever it is a more jelly essence, the "dry out rate" is much slower so I probably could have kept this on for longer.

Thickness: This mask had a medium thickness, but I think that is pretty common for masks with jelly essences which are heavier. A heavier essence would need a thicker fabric to "support" it.

Mask Fit: A little wrinkly around the chin which is most likely because of the thickness of the sheet, but it held on

Tackiness: Sticky...

Hydration: I definitely did NOT want to apply anything further on my face!

Other notes: N/A

Final verdict:
I only got the chance to try one other Candy O' Lady mask and though I would have liked to try all of them because these masks look so pretty in their packaging, but I am not so sure about the tackiness left behind. I also wasn't a huge fan of the scent so while I would have been curious about the other masks, I can't see myself going out of my way to buy them. It also looks like they have become hard to find, so sadly this will probably be the only Candy O' Lady review you will see on the blog.
