Purchased by me
No joke, but this the first Pixi product I have purchased! Pixi has always been incredibly generous with their press packages, but this was something that I do not believe was sent out and I had to have it! The Shoppers closest to me did not carry the sheet masks at all, but I happened to be at the Shoppers on Burrard Street in downtown Vancouver and they had all of the Pixi + Hello Kitty products so I controlled myself and ONLY picked up a box of the A for Apples sheet masks!
I definitely have a weakness for Hello Kitty whether it's makeup, skincare, a Zojirushi thermos (got it) or rice cooker (my husband this was excessive) and the fact that all of these collaborations exist means I am DEFINITELY not the only one with a penchant for this big-headed kitty. The A is for Apples mask contains Vitamin A (retinol), Vitamin C (ascorbic acid), apple extract, five different peptides and ceramides all in healthy concentrations which I love!
These printed masks (I didn't know they were!) are biodegradable so no feeling guilty about creating waste, and can be used as a serum or pre-makeup treatment in the morning. Personally, I never have time in the mornings when I work to do a 20 minute sheet mask so I save them allllll for bedtime when my full night time routine is probably a comfortable hour from shower to end of sheet masking.
Ingredients: Aqua/Water/Eau, Glycerin, Glycereth-26, Betaine, Retinol, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Lactobacillus Ferment, Glycyrrhiza Uralensis (Licorice) Root Extract, Cordyceps Militaris Extract, Ascorbic Acid, Malus Domestica Fruit Extract, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Seed Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Copper Tripeptide-1, Tripeptide-1, Hexapeptide-9, Nonapeptide-1, Ceramide NP, Allantoin, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Panthenol, Arginine, Trehalose, Lecithin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Propanediol, Polysorbate 80, Xanthan Gum, Carbomer, Phenoxyethanol
Printed sheet masks don't always fit well, but because the print is not solid and has just a bit of writing and some Hello Kitty heads here and there, it still wraps around the contours of the face well. I didn't even need to fold up the nose piece which is something I normally have to do.
Mask Summary:
Price: $14 CDN/3 pack
Skin concerns: Revitalizing, dullness
Scent: None - I was expecting apples, but there is no fragrance at all.
Essence Type: Clear and watery
Duration: 20 minutes
Thickness: Thin
Mask Fit: Pretty good! The print did not effect the pliability of the mask at all.
Tackiness: Light-medium
Hydration: Good with my skin feeling very soft and bouncy
Other notes: N/A
Final verdict: This mask was fun to look at, effective at revitalizing my skin and gave it a great bounce and texture. The pricing is reasonable at just over $4 each and the ingredients are rock solid! I very much recommend!
