Abib is back on the blog today as this was the second mask I picked up from Daiso (this was the first Abib mask) and it is also another iconic mask for this brand! Not only did the clear packaging catch my eye, but also the idea of a mask that focused on pH levels was intriguing!

What makes this mask special? There are actually a few things that make this mask stand out, but firstly, the mask sheet is a blend of bamboo and egg white (albumin) which Abib calls the ALBAM sheet. The idea is that once the mask hits the skin, it shrinks a little bit which apparently "enhances the elasticity of your skin" by firming and tightening it. I get the suction/lifting part, but not the elasticity part...

I totally forget to test the pH levels of the serum in this mask, but it is supposed to be the same pH as our skin in order to reduce irritation and inflammation. In addition to albumin, this mask also contains honey, royal jelly and propolis extract which are healing and antibacterial along with a host of other ingredients like turmeric and soothing mallow extract. This mask really focuses on healing and nourishing the skin.

Scent: Very much honey! It's not subtle so you need to like the scent! Thankfully I do!

Essence Type: Clear, viscous, slightly gel-like

Duration: 25 minutes

Thickness: Thin

Mask Fit: Really good! I found the chin length to be PERFECT and I didn't need to fold up the nose

Tackiness: Medium. Eventually gets lighter on tackiness after a couple of hours.

Hydration: Good, but a little on the sticky side for me so I applied moisturizer with a bit of dimethicone in it to take down the stickiness a but.

Final verdict: Even though this mask was a little on the tacky side, I quite enjoyed it! I liked the scent, the way the sheet mask fit and how hydrated and happy my skin felt afterwards. I liked that it wasn't so sticky that I couldn't apply moisturizer afterwards. All in all, a fairly pleasant experience!
