SHEET MASK | The Creme Shop Be Jawsome, Skin Sheet Mask

The Creme Shop Be Jawsome, Skin Sheet Mask Review

Purchased by me

Who can resist a mask with such pure positivity in its name?! And it's a baby shark which automatically makes the "Baby Shark Du Du Du" song run through my head! The Creme Shop is still one of the more accessible sheet mask brands that does printed masks fairly regularly so when I saw this one at Miniso, I had to grab it because of the cuteness factor!

I got sick this past Wednesday and five days in, I think I am on the tail end of things, but I'm still very congested and coughing. I don't know WHERE I managed to catch this as no one at work is sick AND I have been on my own at home for the past two weeks as my husband has been traveling. I drive to work and don't take transit so the only place left is the handful of clients I have interacted with over the last 2 weeks which seems unlikely, but I suppose not impossible. I have been suffering a little on my own and I am glad to see some light at the end of the tunnel!

SHEET MASK | The Creme Shop x Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Pure Destiny and Guardian Charm Masks

Purchased by me

I was strolling through Miniso a few weeks ago on my lunch break and saw that they started carrying a few Creme Shop sheet masks. While I have ordered directly from Creme Shop before, it was in USD and with the exchange now and the last couple of years really, it hasn't been fun to order from so when I see them locally, I go for it! When I saw these Sailor Moon masks, I did not hesitate as my childhood rushed back to me!

We are going back into the archives here with this Creme Shop mask as I have been a bit lazy on the sheet masking front this past week. When I want to review a new sheet mask for all of you, I try my best to write down all of my observations while the mask is on and then immediately after I remove it. All of that takes some mental effort and isn't quite as relaxing as just enjoying the sheet mask for what it is, but I am hoping the rest of this month will be a bit better in terms of enjoying my beauty products!

We have now officially entered the Year of the Dragon! Maybe it's the Asian in me, but I kind of feel like I get another chance at things with Lunar New Year happening a month after the calendar new year. I feel like I have an excuse to buy something new and look at my calendar again. I tend to use this time to see how January has gone and though I don't like to put a lot of pressure on myself anymore, there have been little things I have been motivated to do, like posting every day on my work Instagram (@jaynehlim) or trying to have scheduled blog posts. So far, so good, but from what I have noticed, my blog posts tend to taper off in the Fall. Is it prep for Christmas and the holiday season that kills my energy and motivation? Is it the fact that the weather is generally more depressing and it gets dark earlier? Quite possibly! So, I guess for now, I will enjoy these 8 months of productivity!

This mask was supposed to be for October as it had the PERFECT Fall theme, but when my skin started to seriously act up after coming back from Paris and even prior to leaving (likely due to stress), I called it quits temporarily on all non-essential skincare. My sheet masks lay untouched for months until the end of December when I felt comfortable enough to try putting my skin through the rigours of a multi-step routine again. Luckily, I know that The Creme Shop has always sat well with my skin and I could not WAIT to try on this super cute, printed Hello Kitty mask!

Again, I have had to dip into my unblogged vault of sheet masks as my skin is still on the mend from this rash/infection and it is barely noticeable now, but I still need to finish my course of topical steroids. We have now gone back in time to Jayne's hair from 2018 and to when I was beginning my journey into sheet masking. This Rose Water Face Mask from The Creme Shop was among the first I tried and though my initial experience with the brand was not the best, I have really grown to love their printed masks specifically, but generally I have been fairly happy with every mask I have tried!

I can never get enough of The Creme Shop and their printed masks so when I saw this alien face mask at Winners, I knew it would be a lot of fun and I was right!

It is officially the first day of summer and I am going to *attempt* what I tried to do last summer which was to do the #SummerofSheetMasks where I amp up my blog reviews for sheet masks as a way to feature more cool masks for all of you! I was doing pretty well from June until the first week of August with scheduled posts and then Hugo died so suddenly that I could not bring myself back to that intense level of blogging I had been at before. As we head into the first anniversary of his death, I feel like I am slowly getting my groove and beauty passion back though I don't think it will ever be at the same level it was a few years ago. Here's to hoping that this summer will be better and that I will be able to do what I had set out to do last year!

Continuing on with the Disney theme, The Creme Shop also has a couple of themed masks mainly focused on Mickey and Minnie Mouse, but there are a few Winnie the Pooh items as well. The Creme Shop has a number of fun collaborations with Sanrio being my favourite, but when I saw these Minnie Mouse masks on sale at Winners, I knew I had to try them for the print alone!

Not gonna lie, I have had this review sitting in my drafts for awhile AND I keep a physical "copy" of each mask that I want to review in a box in my office so let's just say, it has been probably a few years based on the colour of my hair in the selfie below! I think I stopped reviewing The Creme Shop and their sheet masks because in terms of results, they are all fairly similar. The masks I DO like sharing with you are the printed ones because who doesn't love seeing Hello Kitty or a unicorn on a sheet mask?!

This is the LAST mask of my The Creme Shop x Sanrio haul from a lifetime ago and oddly enough the expiration date for these masks that I purchased way back in October 2018 was this year so I think that's why I kept putting off reviewing them. I just thought I had all of this time! Truthfully, there are so many more cool sheet masks that I would like to still review that have probably long been discontinued, but the crazy person in me feels that I owe to my love of sheet masks to give them a post!

I remember when I first saw these The Creme Shop x Sanrio sheet masks launch a few years ago and I bought every single one from The Creme Shop website because at the time they were limited edition. Fast forward to now when the Sanrio line is part of the normal collection and I needn't have rushed to purchase them like a crazy person. I am glad the masks are here to stay as they are among the cuter printed masks on the market! Keroppi is one of my favourite Sanrio characters and he "lives on the edge of Donut Pond, the largest and bluest pond around". When I was a teenager, Keroppi and Bad Badtz Maru were like my spirit animals so it feels nice to still have them around in some form as an almost 40 year old woman!

SHEET MASK | The Creme Shop Hello Kitty Ready Set Glow Sheet Mask

For those of you who have been following my #SheetMaskSunday posts, you're probably wondering how many more of these The Creme Shop x Hello Kitty masks I have and the answer is JUST a few more! I can't believe I picked these up so long ago now (pre-pandemic) and wanted to review them in one massive post for a "Hello Kitty Week", but honestly a lot of plans kind of went to shit in 2020 so here we are in 2022 trying to plug along!

SHEET MASK | The Creme Shop Hello Kitty Tea Time Sheet Mask

I was a bit of a hoarder when it came to these Hello Kitty sheet masks from The Creme Shop and now the time has come to use them as I have noticed the expiration dates are looming and more importantly, I have observed that The Creme Shop sheet masks seem to dry out more quickly than the other brands I have. Granted, they don't dry out before the expiration dates, but I've never been someone to take expiration dates on sheet masks very seriously as the masks always work and there is always plenty of essence to ensure the fibres remain hydrated. Having noticed this, I have been trying to prioritize these VERY kawaii masks as they have incredibly cute prints!

SHEET MASK | The Creme Shop Bad Badtz Maru Detox Rocks

When I first started on this sheet mask journey in 2016, it was more to use up sheet masks that I had sitting in my stash which at the time was probably around 30 masks. Then around the time that I started really enjoying them, the North American beauty world also picked up on the joy of sheet masking and though I have long since finished my expiring stash of masks, I picked up WAY more in my gusto to review ALL OF THE SHEET MASKS. I have never thought of myself as a "go hard or go home" gal, but I can't deny that in recent years that when it has come to hobbies like nail art, sheet masks, bath bombs or most recently the banjolele, I have gone "full Boyle" (for those who watch Brooklyn 99)!

SHEET MASK | The Creme Shop x Hello Kitty Shooting Stars Sheet Mask #Lunar January

At the end of 2018, The Creme Shop launched a most exciting collaboration with the Queen of Sanrio herself - Hello Kitty! I went a little crazy with my order in October 2018 because I thought it was a Holiday collection, but now I see that not only does The Creme Shop still have the masks, but now have even MORE Hello Kitty masks! I have yet to finish what I purchased, but the masks are so cute that I had to share this one for #LunarJanuary!

KBEAUTY | The Creme Shop Calm Down, Skin! Cat Face Mask #100DaysofSheetMasks

Talk about terrifying looking sheet masks! Certain animals are just destined to look creepy, but when I saw The Creme Shop Calm Down, Skin! masks on sale at Winners the kitty cat on the packaging looked so cute that I was convinced I would look just as adorable when wore it. Yeah...not so much. This mask reminded me so much of The Face Shop Homer Mask, but with a better fit and equally disturbing eyes.

KBEAUTY | The Creme Shop Glow Up Skin Unicorn Face Mask #100DaysofSheetMasks

In my post for the new MAKE UP FOR EVER Matte Velvet Skin Foundation, I had said that the event took place at Curlique which is partly a makeup school and retail store carrying some pretty cool brands in addition to MUFE. One of the brands that caught my eye that night was LA-based, The Crème Shop because they had SO MANY animal print sheet masks! I know that prints aren't really the best when it comes to skincare benefits, but man do they help with lifting your mood and making people laugh! In the end, I find myself balancing my mask stash with both fun and effective masks like this Glow Up, Skin! Animated Unicorn Face Mask!
