Talk about ending the year with a bang. I just about died when I swatched the Diorific Matte Lipsticks! I am still not completely sold on matte lipsticks, but these ones have come oh so close to swaying me.
The Diorific matte Lipsticks are available in four shades: Radieuse* ($45.00 CDN each), Fascinante*, Fableuse* and Fantastique* and I honestly cannot even choose a favourite as these are the most hydrating matte lipsticks I have ever worn! They feel cushiony, smooth and comfortable which are all VERY important when deciding to wear a matte lipstick!
The packaging is incredibly hefty, though I often get the sides mixed up because they look quite similar. The plus side of the shiny gold casing is that I will NEVER lose it in my bag as it acts as a beacon of light in the depths of any ladies' handbag.

I am grateful that the shades for this collection range from the wearable rosewoods of Radieuse and Fascinante to the holiday party shades of Fableuse (on lips here) and Fantastique. I hate it when holiday collections just have red. I get why, but why not some wearable daytime shades?! The swatches were just one swipe and full opacity was met. I got to experience four beautiful moments with these guys...
Final verdict: Oh my gosh, I know these are expensive, but but but...they are seriously so stunning. My only qualm? They transfer more easily than the traditional matte lipstick because these are slightly more hydrating. I would maybe set them with a loose powder to reduce the amount of transfer or use a lip liner as I found that if I touched the edge of lips even slightly, there would be slight blurring on the edge of my lips. For these lipsticks though, I'm willing to suck it up and check myself in the mirror once in awhile.
The Dior State of Gold Collection is available at The Bay and Sephora.
