SKINCARE | Mary Kay TimeWise Repair Lifting Bio-cellulose Mask #31DaysofSheetMasks

Bio-cellulose. When it comes to sheet masks, this material is pure luxury.  Derived from coconut water, these masks feel disturbingly similar to moist skin and are the ultimate in moisture restoration because of the material which lends to a near perfect fit to the face. I used my first bio-cellulose mask when I got the full on flu in January of 2016 (I remember because I rarely get colds, let alone the flu) and was so hot and uncomfortable that I wanted something cold on my face. I don't think I thought much about the skincare benefits at the time, but what I do remember was how bio-cellulose mimicked the texture of my skin! I was actually quite surprised when Mary Kay went the route of bio-cellulose masks late last year because sheet masks are one thing, but going with bio-cellulose is seriously stepping it up!

The TimeWise Repair Lifting Bio-Cellulose Mask* ($75/4 pack) is a lifting, skin conditioning, brightening treatment intended for use twice a week. Though the featured ingredients are oat extract, orchid extract and sodium hyaluronate, they sit near the middle of the ingredients list which may or may not be a bad thing.

The fit is PERFECT and you can see that there is not a single trace of "chin goatee". The "sheet" is so deliciously thin that it adheres so beautifully to the skin! The fit and feel reminded me so much of the For Beloved One Bio-cellulose masks so it was interesting when I looked at where these masks were made and it's in Taiwan - same place where FBO is made! I don't think I have seen a single sheet mask that WASN'T made in Asia so obviously there is something special happening.

Mask Summary:

Scent: little to none
Thickness: thin like skin!
Mask Fit: perfect with no chin goatee or extra flap over nose
Tackiness: minimal
Hydration: left my skin feeling plump and bouncy

Final verdict: LOVE THEM and pricing is actually quite reasonable at $18.75 each with the FBO ones retailing for about $21 each. They are on the luxurious side so even though it is ideal to use these at least 3x/week, I would probably use these once a week or maybe just one week straight if I felt like my skin really needed the boost. When it comes to masks, I like switching it up and not using the same mask twice in a row so I will keep bio-cellulose masks as a general treat for my skin like getting Haagen Daaz instead of Breyers!
