MAKEUP | Clarins Sunkissed Summer 2018 Collection

I know there hasn't been a lot of makeup on the blog since I have now become OBSESSED with skincare and masking, but I do wear makeup daily and still very much enjoy it so I do apologize for those of you who have been missing out on my makeup posts! This summer has been an easy one when it comes to makeup as I haven't been deviating much from certain products. I just keep wanting to look tanned and that's pretty much it so when it comes to bronzing it up, it's all about the Clarins Sunkissed Summer Collection

Every summer, Clarins releases a mega bronzer in limited edition packaging and embossing that I can never bring myself to give away despite how many bronzers I now have! This year's Sunkissed theme is "Pink Flamingos" and even though I got a sneak peek of the collection back in November of last year, it still looked even prettier in my hot little hands!

The Limited Edition Bronzing Compact* ($42.00 CDN) is massive in size and contains three easy-to-wear shades of "sunkissed" in a matte finish. I don't wear bronzers a lot, but I found these shades so easy to blend together without making my skin look muddy.

Ah, the Limited Edition 4 Colour All in One Pen* ($35.00 CDN) was such a mind blower for me when the first one came out almost 2 years ago. This beloved pen from our childhood was now being carried over into our adult lives and I was FLOORED. The Sunkissed edition contains your classic brown and black eyeliners, PLUS a bright green teal eyeliner special for the summer season! The lipliner is a bright red cherry that seemed a bit red for the summer season, but still looked good when I wore it for a day.

In theory, this is such a great idea, but what makes this pen challenging to use is that the tip of the liners are all flat as opposed to pointed so lining the eyes isn't as crisp as using a traditional pencil. They can also tug a bit on the eyelid and feel scratchy on the lips as they are not gel-like in consistency.

The Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil in Blackberry* ($25.00 CDN) is the latest shade addition to the ever-growing family of one of the NICEST lip oils I have ever used. I reviewed these when they first came out three years ago and the word "comfort" has never been more appropriate! Not only are these thick and glossy, but they are not sticky and truly feel like a protective blanket on the lips. The shade Blackberry has a slight purple tint and adds a bit of drama to your existing lipstick colour.

Final verdict: Putting it all together, I was quite a fan of the green liner though I had to smudge quite a bit with my finger and I really liked the bronzer and how much more tanned it made me look! No, this isn't a massive collection, but that's ok! I can put together an easy summer look in no time flat and still look a little interesting with my pop of green liner!

The Clarins Sunkissed Summer Collection is available now at all Clarins counters.
