This was my first time trying DERMAL products and though I was thoroughly amused by the patterns on these masks, I'm not sure I would repurchase these exact ones. There are two other animals: a fox and seal that I might pick up if I ever came across them again, but with so many other masks to experience it might just have to wait!
The Panda Animal Whitening Mask contains niacinamide for brightening, hyaluronic acid and beta-glucan (gives a rosy glow) all in the first half of the ingredients list which was promising. There are even peptides midway! This mask is all about re-energizing the skin while also improving the look of skin texture.
The fit was a bit large for me around the hairline, but perfect around the chin. The fragrance was light and disappeared once I had the mask on my face. I was surprised at how thin and soft the mask sheet felt, but it was a bit stiff around the eyes where most of the print was. The nose section also wasn't long enough that I was inhaling it while waiting out my 20 minutes. I don't have a very "normal" nose so I tend to fold back my nose pieces frequently if they drape over my nostrils and make it hard to breathe.
Did this whiten my skin? Maybe a little bit? Most of the masks I have are generally brightening or hydrating and though my skin generally has this fantastic post-mask glow, I never really focus too much on whether my skin looks lighter. Even if it did, I find that the effects are only temporary unless I use the SAME brightening mask every day which would effectively be a VERY expensive serum. The actual mask itself was quite fun and cute to wear although my husband said I looked "terrifying". I think my eyes look like they hold much promise!
The second mask I tried was the Tiger Animal Wrinkle Mask, an anti-aging mask containing sodium hyaluronate, adenosine and peptides to keep dry skin moist and add a slight bounce of elasticity. I really just wanted to look like a tiger!
This mask had a similar fragrance to Panda and disappeared once the mask was on my face. Since this mask had more of a print on the forehead, the top half of the mask felt a bit more stiff, but still was not as stiff as The Face Shop Homer Mask. Homer could not lie flat on the skin, but at least this one still could! Again, I was surprised at how soft and "juicy" with essence these masks were for ones that were printed!
The fit of the Tiger Mask was better than the Panda with no large extra bits of mask hanging off into my hairline. Everything else on the print lined up perfectly with my face so I was quite pleased!
As for whether it took away my wrinkles, it definitely felt hydrating which is always the first line of defense against wrinkles!
Final verdict: Both masks had medium tackiness levels which weren't great, but I could manage. The recent heat wave has made tacky masks feel EXTRA tacky which is what happened when I wore the Panda mask the other night. It just never seemed to dry down and I went to bed with tacky skin which made me want to aim the fan directly at my head. They did have some MASSIVE entertainment value and though I haven't tried a ton of animal print masks yet, I found the softness of the sheet to be better than I though it would be.
You can find DERMAL at T&T and various Korean e-tailers.
