SUNSCREEN | Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40 and Invincible Setting Powder SPF 45

When it comes to different forms of sunscreen, Supergoop! is where it's at! Talk about a brand with a niche! Unfortunately, Supergoop! is not available in Canada because of the lack of DIN on the products, so whenever I get a chance to go to the US, I always make a point of picking up something new from the brand. This year, opportunity came in May when I was in Las Vegas for work so I made my way over to the closest Sephora on The Strip (after fighting off some evangelistic cult people on the way) with my list and picked up some sunscreen goodies!

When it comes to lightweight mineral sunscreen, the only other one that comes to mind NOW (after COOLA) is the new 100% Mineral Invincible Setting Powder which has an SPF 45 and is refillable! This comes in 4 shades: translucent, light, medium and deep and honestly works like a legit setting powder at keeping my face set and smooth. It's hard to believe that I am dusting on sunscreen AND setting my makeup all at the same time!

The brush and canister with the powder come apart relatively easily for cleaning and refilling. Unscrew the bottom part to attach your refill and then just pull on the brush head to clean. The brush head is attached magnetically.

When you first get the powder, there is a plastic pin down the middle of the brush that you "unplug" causing the setting powder to come out. I sometimes get powder on my shirt as the powder application isn't necessarily smooth so sometimes I shake the powder out in one shot on my palm and the buff into my skin with the brush.

I was actually wanting to pick up a tinted shade, but I really wasn't sure which one would work so I figured translucent would work best and be the most safe. Hubby also liked this setting powder as he used it as sunscreen and loved the idea that his skin could stay smooth all day without getting grimy. He actually texted me the first time he tried it and commented on how smooth his skin felt. I was like "That's setting powder baby!"

Though this is a cool product, I still tend to use either a moisturizer or foundation with sunscreen in it in combination with it because I get scared that I haven't covered my face enough with powder to get FULL protection.

The Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40 is what I have been using the most out of the two products because it is both a sunscreen and primer. This is a chemical sunscreen with silicones so it does have that smooth, slippy feel to it, but still manages to feel completely weightless. It has no scent and leaves my skin with a soft, velvet finish.

I have used the Murad Invisiblur before which is essentially the same thing as Unseen, but I found Unseen to have a smoother texture. I also preferred the packaging of a squeeze tube instead of a weird dome pump that I feel was just done to "look cool".

If you ever decide to shop online at Nordstrom or head on over to the States, Supergoop! has always been a brand I have looked to for innovative sunscreen products that actually make you look forward to UV protection! They have done a great job of making it all look fun so there really are NO excuses for lack of sun protection. Both of these products have been wonderful additions to my summer makeup routine and I hope they can make it into yours as well!

You can find Supergoop!at Nordstrom.com and all Sephora US locations.
