August Empties!

It was nice to actually see that I was steadily using products instead of being all over the place and having half opened bottles all over the place. Life was also a bit more under control this month with my “real life” being back on track. I was doing so well on empties that the hubby even wanted me to include his one! It’s sweet when the boys get on board the beauty blogging train.

August Empties

1. L’Occitane Amande Shower Oil (500mL)Thumbs up

I have always loved this stuff, but after buying refills three times it’s time to get to my other shower gels. This is very moisturizing, a great shaving cream alternative and of course smells wonderfully luxurious.

2. Flexitol Intense Hydrating Lotion (300mL)Thumbs up

It doesn’t smell the greatest as it truly smells like something medicinal, BUT it works on those really dry, sore areas of skin. For me it’s my legs and occasionally my elbows and knees. My husband gets perpetual dry patches and he also liked that this “didn’t smell like a girl” and worked.

3. Lush Big Shampoo (330g)Thumbs up

This is a shampoo that I’ve always really enjoyed from Lush for both its scent and volumizing abilities. The large salt grains can be hard to manage as I tend to lose a lot of them when I’m massaging the shampoo into my scalp, but I truly find this shampoo a must-try and must-have.

4. Origins Spearmint and Lemon Hand Lotion (30mL)Thumbs up

This only comes in a 3 pack with two other Origins hand lotions, but I loved this scent the best. It smells exactly like spearmint with a hint of lemon and was VERY hydrating, but non-greasy.

5. Caudalie Beauty Elixir (30mL)Thumbs up

I didn’t like the scent of this spray at first, but after a few more spritzes I started to love the combination of peppermint and rosemary oil. The scent became truly invigorating and the spray is extremely fine.

6. Julep Quick Dry Drops (30mL)Thumbs up

These have now been renamed Ta Da Drops or something like that, but these are my FAVOURITE quick dry drops when it comes to drying my polish in a flash. There is also lavender and ylang ylang essential oils to make this smell heavenly. I have used SO MANY quick drying drops and for some reason, this is THE one for me so every Boxing Day, I buy six of them!

7. L’Occitane Lavender Soap (100g)Thumbs up

Smells wonderful and is made with shea butter so this is a bar soap that is SUPER hydrating. I get these buy the pack at L’Occitane when I’m low.

8. REN Active Radiant Eye Gel (3mL)Thinking smile

Oil-free was what I was looking for when I decided to give this sample a try as my undereyes have been filled with milia…this certainly hydrated the skin under my eyes and the white bumps are slowly getting tamed, but I will need to continue with trying more of this to make a better conclusion.

9. AVON Cuticle Scrub (12g)Thumbs down

This scent of this was really nice, but this scrub was almost gummy which I found odd. I am really picky about my hand scrubs because I’m such a nail care snob that I would rather use something else. The texture was just weird and hard to distribute evenly.

10. L’Occitane Brightening Cleansing Foam (50mL)Thumbs down

I really struggled to get this finished. I didn’t like the smell all that much (I’m big on scent, can you tell?) and I just didn’t feel like it did anything.

11. Lush Bunch of Carrots Bubble Bar (150g)Thinking smile

I know, I know. Why doesn’t this have a thumbs up? I LOVED the concept of a bunch of carrots that I can reuse, but the scent wasn’t one of my favourites, which I talked about in my review.

12. La Roche Posay Physiological Ultra Fine Scrub (50mL)Thumbs up

This stuff is wonderful! Super fine scrub, but man is it ever effective! I could feel a difference in the surface of my skin right away the first time I used it! Oh, AND it smells REALLY good!

13. Kiehl’s Creme de Corps (5mL)Thumbs up

I own this in the full size so obviously I enjoy it. It is a thicker moisturizer, almost paste-like, which is why I’m only bringing this out now as it was way too heavy in the summer.

14. MaskerAide Hydrating Facial Sheet MaskThumbs up

I LOVE these masks and this one in particular is my favourite because the essence is infused with peppermint oil and just feels and smells invigorating!

15 & 16. Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Shampoo and Conditioner (9mL)Thumbs up

I have reviewed this duo before and to this day it’s still one of my favourites! Expensive, but I found the presence of olive oil to be very moisturizing for my hair.

17 & 18 & 19. face skrub, hydradew mask, face skotion (3mL each)Thumbs up

I have my reasons for not actively posting the name of the brand, but these three products are great and I use them all the time. I have talked about the hydradew mask before and use it every day before bed or even under makeup.

20. L’Occitane Verveine EDT (0.3mL)Thumbs up

Such a refreshing scent! OMG!

August Empties (2)

Hubby’s empty is The Body Shop White Musk Sport Hair and Body Wash (200mL) which he said smelled good and he liked that he could shampoo and soap up with one product. *APPLAUSE*

Total empties for August: 20

126 more empties to go until I make it to last year’s number!

See you next month!
