I am cheating a little bit here because I have reviewed one of these Mediheal sheet masks in the past, but because today's masks had limited edition BTS packaging, I wanted to give them their own review! It has been about 7 years since the Mediheal x BTS collaboration was announced, so I think I picked up these masks between 2018-2020 and have been sitting on the reviews since. These two masks were the last ones in the boxes of 10 I purchased so it seemed fitting to give them a sendoff review worthy of how much I enjoyed them!

I swear I bring this nail polish out every summer because it truly is a perfect neon to wear when the sun is out and the temperature is well into the mid-20s! It has also been about a month since I have even painted my nails so it felt like a good way to start the month!

EMPTIES | July 2026 (So many skincare empties!)

Let's soft launch August as I realize that I only managed to blog 8x last month! Usually if I do less than 10 blog posts it is because I am sick, away or dealing with some sort of mental anguish. For July, I was just so sleepy on a lot of my time off and just wanted to get house things done instead of sit down and type. We have also been using my days off to enjoy the summer weather and enjoy some quality time so truthfully, taking a bit of a summer break has been welcome!

My empties bucket was overflowing last month because of these SEVEN skincare products that I managed to finish! Most of them were at sort of the 3/4 or 1/2 mark so I committed to using them the last couple of months and it paid off! I really loved the Kiehl's Herbal Cleanser, but it's a shame it has been discontinued. I also enjoyed the Naked Sundays sunscreen though it looks like this exact product no longer exists, but they seem to have many other options that I might try later on in the year.

The JOWAE Hydrating Water Mist lasted probably 6 months and though the cherry blossom scent was a bit overpowering in the end, I love waking up in the morning to a refreshingly cold mist like this one! I was sent two in PR so I will start my second bottle as soon as I am done with my current toner.

Seeing as how Revlon Unicornicopia was released back in 2017, I think I was given this nail polish at one of the London Drugs events and am only getting around to trying it now! The summer feels like a time to be nostalgic so I will diving into my box of untrieds from way back which will be fun especially for any of you who have been nail polish fans for the last 15 years!

This review I have definitely been sitting on because I realized by entire Instagram feed was nails, sheet masks, Ipsy Original bags and repeat! It was getting a bit samesy to me and it also made me realized that I have been beauty blogging without a real plan for the month. I used to LOVE planning out themes and such, but the last two years have been rough. Once I have two days off, I feel like I can think and feel excited about content creation, but then I create my plan and it all goes to shambles once I work 1-2 days. I definitely do not have the same stamina as when I was in my 30s! My goal with these Ipsy reviews is to catch up for the summer because I find summer products really are more specific to summer and it will let me get back on track!

I just wrapped up my one week of vacation and what I love about how I tend to structure my time off is that I leave mid-week and I come back on a Friday because while it is still a weekday, you cannot really follow up on anything because everyone is already packing up for the weekend! Then I work Saturday where I can have more time to catch up and then come Monday, I am ready for the week!

It's that time again! I used to use a ton of different sunscreens throughout summer, but in the spirit of reducing unnecessary spending "for the sake of the blog", I have stopped doing this as I have actually had to throw quite a few out because sunscreens expire. Some, I have continued to use as primers like the ones from Supergoop, but generally I try to use them all up before reviewing new ones and I think I've been doing alright! In fact, one of the sunscreens featured today has now been used up!

As I type this, I am nestled in a blanket as I watch a live replay of Stage 3 of the Tour de France. What a vacation life right? For the last two years, we have done a one month subscription to Flo Bikes as they are the only place in Canada that shows TDF. Before, you had to subscribe for the whole year for something like $150, but now you can pay $49.99 CDN for one month which is perfect! I have tried to keep up with the other Grand Tours during the year, but TDF is truly the most exciting!

With a Miniso location a block away from my work, I go from time to time to pick up Asian snacks and check out Asian skincare and makeup. Miniso has a number of house brand sheet masks and a few months ago, I came across these very attractively packaged sheet masks that looked cute and had some fun-smelling scents.

EMPTIES | June 2026 (The month I finished an entire eyeshadow stick!)

I officially started my "birthday vacation" yesterday and I launched it all fairly hard with going downtown and having dinner at Miku amongst the FIFA and Canada Day festivities so my husband and I were completely "peopled-out" by the time we got home. And on top of that, I was anxious driving home because Evelyn's (the name of my 2004 Honda Civic) engine light came on. I felt the car shudder a bit before it came on so I think it might be a spark plug issue, but I was just praying she would make it home in one piece and I wouldn't have to call a tow truck on a holiday!

I feel like I did really well with my empties last month, but when I look at these photos they seem so unimpressive despite my intense focus on finishing products I've had for awhile! Nonetheless, I am still very proud of myself LOL! Firstly, finishing this Dior Star Foundation* that I kid you not is probably 10 years old was a huge accomplishment! I scooped and scraped as much as I could before finally giving up and cleaning out the bottle which took probably 20 minutes! The other product that I used up was the Rare Beauty Eyeshadow Stick in the shade Contentment which I already had a backup of because I use it almost everyday for work! I was also scraping it out of the tube with a little metal tool so I was proud that I got the absolute max value out of it!

I have been so exhausted the last few days as I have not been sleeping well with the heat wave so my husband and I decided to have a solid sleep-in until 9am yesterday. I think everyone must have been tired because even the cats didn't even wake me up for food until then! I also start vacation this Wednesday on July 1st for one week because it's ma birthdayyyyy and I cannot wait to both have some time off at home and celebrate! I have three days booked with husband and friends and then I want to spend the rest of my time cleaning the apartment, which has been sorely neglected for the last month and a half while I have been busy with working in two locations during the week.

It's summer now so when I see a mask with snowflakes on the packaging and a "-7 degrees" in the description, I am IMMEDIATELY interested! Garnier caught my attention yet again with their Cryo Jelly cooling effect sheet mask and I just had to know "how cooling was it?"

I know that lip liners are back in a BIG way and I have tried a few times to get onboard, but this is one product that I cannot get to work for me. I feel like no matter how much I blend, I always end up with a ring around my lips after a few hours. I have worn lip liners as lipsticks with a bit of gloss on top and of course, once the gloss wears off, I am left with my lip ring once again so when it comes to lip liners, I actually have only two that I have legitimately purchased on my own. I probably have 10 from PR that are in nude shades that I am convinced I will "need at some point", but I think I should just declutter them the next time I do a purge.

It was another beautiful weekend in Vancouver at 20 degrees, not a cloud in the sky and a cool breeze from the water. If everyday in summer were this, I would be in heaven! When it starts creeping closer to 30 degrees, that's where you lose me! My husband and I decided to spend our Sunday afternoon at Uniqlo as we had a number of summer basics we wanted to stock up on. I have gained 10lbs since last summer so none of my work summer clothes fit anymore and I was tired of feeling "stuffed" into everything especially as the weather gets hotter!

I have been doing a few split shifts at Chaumet at Oakridge Park for the last month and I think I underestimated how tired I would be training at one location and then trying to get everything I want to get done at my home store as I basically work 3 days/week at my own store. While I feel like that would be enough time for most managers, with people taking vacation, wanting to merchandise and organize stock and having a larger client base than before that I like to manage "the type A Jayne way", it has left me working more than 40 hours to week to keep up. Amazingly, I have managed to keep up with sheet masking every day so at least one small aspect of my life feels put together!

Oh my goodness, I am so late with posting ANY nails! ManiMondays used to be the one thing I felt I could make time for because I always had my nail painted, but then my nails started breaking big time a few months ago and the inspiration for nail art has been lacking as well. I feel like I have sort of done everything, but at the same time there is nothing wrong with old favourites, right? Everyone loves a bit of nostalgia? 

SHEET MASK | The Face Shop Character Masks: Puppy, Pig and Monkey

We have just experienced our first FIFA weekend! The last time I saw Vancouver host something on such a large scale was the 2010 Olympics and for a city that is so small, I do not know how we manage to fit so many people inside it! Last weekend, while I was driving into work, I saw this MASSIVE line that wrapped all around Waterfront station and onto West Cordova. Easily 1000 people and what was the line for? Compass "cards" in the shape of soccer ball keychains! Cute, but you will NEVER catch me wasting my Saturday morning (or any morning really) waiting in the rain for something like that! It was pouring rain too!

Not gonna lie. These Face Shop sheet masks are old AF, but I honestly barely noticed a difference between using them now and like 8 years ago (I had extras from before). I know a lot of people get scared about using expired skincare products, but I have never had anything bad happen with my skin or noticed anything "off". I think there is something about sheet masks because they are sealed and the packaging is usually lined with foil which seems to preserve all masks in a way that I have never seen with any other type of skincare.

EMPTIES | May 2026 (The Month of Skincare!)

Today has been a REAL effort to do anything useful despite getting up early. I have been on my work email all day for client things, which I don't mind doing since 99% of my clients are super nice. I like being able to give them each proper attention as I don't often get a chance to do that at work since it's more about getting things done as they come up as well as answering people's questions on the go. I rarely get a chance to do something completely on my own for more than 30 minutes so that's the only reason I work with clients at home - just to be able to get from Point A to B in straight line within the hour instead zigzagging with hours in between!

I finished a whopping SEVEN skincare products which was kind of crazy, but many of them were at the halfway points when I started with them or products I had started using earlier in the year that all happened to get used up last month! Notable standouts include the Omorovicza Magic Moisture Mist, which is sadly discontinued, the Pacifica Glow Baby Serum and the FirstBase Skincare Cleanser which were all AMAZING to use. I also realized that my husband really liked the FirstBase Cleanser for his beard so I will be purchasing more whenever they have a promotion since I have BINS of cleanser to get through!

This is my first Vitamasques review and I do not think it will be my last! I have now seen this brand at London Drugs so once I make a bit more of a dent in my sheet mask collection, I will pick up more to try! 

EVENT | A Day with Dior Beauty: Facials and Matcha

 

It's not very often that I do back to back events with Dior in one day mainly due to my lack of energy and not wanting to stay downtown and dealing with traffic on the way home. With how busy and chaotic the last few weeks have been, I was willing to make the drive downtown and get an amazing facial as well as do a little bit of shopping!
