SHEET MASKS | Fruits & Passion Olive, Avocado, Aloe and Rice

I know most of you are familiar with the brand Fruits & Passion for their bath, body and Cucina house products, but did you know they also made sheet masks? This is largely in part to the rebranding and ownership by South Korean conglomerate LG Corp, parent company of Nature Collection, and I'm not complaining! Sheet masks are currently the only skincare product sold by Fruits & Passion and come in 10 different "flavours". I say flavours because every sheet mask is inspired by food! Except for the Aloe mask I guess, but could you eat aloe if you wanted to? At any rate, I have mentioned before that Avon has partnered up with a few brands under the Nature Collection umbrella and Fruits & Passion is one of them so here is a breakdown of four, very affordable, sheet masks that are all available now through Avon!

Each mask contains the featured ingredient in various concentrations with the style and fit of the masks being identical so I only took one mask selfie that can be seen close to the end of the post. The general purposes of the masks range from hydrating to moisturizing to nourishing to brightening. With the exception of brightening, I think the first three goals mean the same thing so I won't dwell too much on the skincare purposes of each mask as I think you can get the gist from looking at the packaging. All masks also contain dimethicone which aids in minimizing tackiness levels on the skin upon removal.

Avocado Face Mask*
Fruits and Passion Sheet Mask Review

Fruits and Passion Sheet Mask Review

Mask Summary:

Price: $3 CDN
Scent: Actually kind of smells a bit like avocado!
Essence Type:
Duration: 10-15 min
Thickness: Thin
Mask Fit: Ok, but had to cut a deeper line into chin to get it to stick better.
Tackiness: None
Hydration: A bit dry around the eyes and just OK on the face. Needed to add moisturizer.
Other notes: By the end of 15 minutes, the mask will feel dry in certain areas like between the eyes. The mask is also made of a very smooth and soft material so doesn't stick and hold onto skin well. There wasn't a lot of essence in each package so I found that I had to "resoak" the masks with whatever essence I had left in the packet once I took them out and applied them to my face.

Price: $3 CDN
Scent: Fresh, but light
Essence Type: Light gel
Duration: 10-15 min
Thickness: Thin
Mask Fit: Same notes as previous mask
Tackiness: Light
Hydration: Good! I added two drops of facial oil afterwards and that was it!
Other notes: Same notes as previous mask about essence levels and mask fit. Featured ingredient of olive fruit extract is found in the highest concentration in this mask! It is the 4th ingredient compared to the other masks where the featured ingredient is much later in the list.

Price: $3 CDN
Scent: Fresh, but light
Essence Type: Light gel
Duration: 10-15 min
Thickness: Thin
Mask Fit: Same notes as previous mask.
Tackiness: Light

Other notes: Same notes as previous mask about essence levels and mask fit. Aloe is right at the 50% mark on the ingredients list, BUT my skin still felt hydrated and looked good.

Fruits and Passion Sheet Mask Review

In addition to the softness of the sheet mask fabric, what I also liked about this mask was that there were multiple slits all over to aid in fit. For the shape of my face, I think the slits needed to be deeper, but there were more than some other masks I have tried.

Final verdict: These masks are affordable, quick to use and do a decent job of keeping my skin hydrated as I need very little maintenance afterwards. The ingredients aren't too interesting with the Olive and Rice face masks probably being the best in terms of getting the most out of the featured ingredients. Personally, I prefer The Face Shop Solutions sheet masks because I prefer the fit of the masks better and cost-wise they are only 50 cents more, but these masks are decent add-ons to a skincare routine if you are looking for something simple, no fuss, quick and does what it says it will do!
