Hand Chemistry | Intense Youth Complex Hand Cream

With how often I paint my nails and the number of macro shots you guys see of my claws, hand care is something I take VERY seriously so let me introduce you to my new best friend: Hand Chemistry Intense Youth Complex (100mL/$19.99 CDN or 30mL/$6.99 CDN). Already available in the UK since last year, British beauty bloggers have been raving about this product and now it has graced the skincare aisles of Shopper Drug Mart in Canada. Hand Chemistry targets 8 signs of aging and claims results in just 11 days or less. Wait, what?!

Now, what does that 19.5% on the front of the tube refer to? An active complex concentration of Biological GHK (1%), Pseudoalteromonas Complex (5%), Plantago Lanceolata Complex (2%), Maize Propanediol (7.5%), Sacha Inchi Oil (2%) and Tremella Fuciformis (2%). The breakfast of hand cream champions.

What sets Hand Chemistry apart from other hand creams is the inclusion of a biotechnological derivative of the mushroom Tremella Fuciformis Sporocarp which is used in beauty products in Asia to increase moisture retention. Tremella Fuciformis Sporocarp is actually 400x MORE moisturizing than hyaluronic acid! This means that you should notice your skin looking more plump thanks to the now superhuman ability of your skin to hold more moisture!

Biological GHK is a copper complex that has been shown in studies to stimulate collagen production, meaning younger looking skin thanks to its ability to decrease wrinkle depth. Hooray for anti-aging properties! It does a bunch of other crazy good things, but this is the one that matters when it comes Hand Chemistry!

Sacha Inchi oil and Maize Propanediol work together to make skin holds on to its newly found moisture by forming a protective moisture barrier on the skin so that you won’t have to keep reapplying this hand cream after just a few hours. Pseudoalteromonas Complex and Plantago Lanceolata Complex form an algae ferment that also serve to increase skin’s moisture content by a purported 11% in just 12 hours. Crazy.

Final Verdict: OMG, I love this stuff. My initial impressions of the product were that I really liked the scent. It is a very subtle fruit scent, but doesn’t hang around too long once applied on skin. More importantly, Hand Chemistry is non-greasy, non-sticky and my hands feel soft instantly. My hands did not have that “dewy” feel that can sometimes happen with certain hand creams, but instead felt like little baby hands! You know, when baby hands are so chubby and plump with softness? That’s what they feel like!

I still have fairly “young” hands and I take care of them pretty religiously, so the differences I noticed were not overly drastic, but I can definitely attest to an increase in smoothness, hydration, density and firmness (I used it on my feet that seem WAY more wrinkly than my hands!). I compared one foot to the other and the one with Hand Chemistry looked more plump and almost looked like it had a better skin texture. I can only imagine what Hand Chemistry will do to hands in need of such pampering! This hand cream will not be leaving my sight until I have emptied its tubular remains. Sounds morbid, but I want every last drop!

Hand Chemistry Intense Youth Complex is now available at Shoppers Drug Mart locations across Canada.
