You guys don’t think that I’d ACTUALLY show you my cooch, do you?! All I can say is that after a quick 15 minute session with Natalie of Stripped Wax Bar, I was clear for landing! Stripped Wax Bar is a local Vancouver based wax bar with locations in Yaletown, Kitsilano and North Vancouver. I was fortunate enough to be convinced to go for the full Brazilian after not having had one in years. I have a couple of tattoos and remembered the pain not being too terrible by comparison so I figured, why the hell not? I made my appointment at the North Vancouver location and was instantly greeted by cheeky wall art.
Stripped Wax Bar features locally made products geared towards reducing in-grown hairs, inflammation and overall healthy skin and hair growth for all regions.
Create your ideal pubic region with magnetic games such as “Designer Beaver” while you wait!
I was thisclose to getting vajazzled, but I’ll have to save that for another time. The service menu caters to both men and women and ANYWHERE you want. You name it, that hair will be no more. Pricing is very reasonable with Brazilians being $38 and Bikini waxes at $25, but the service is well at or even beyond spa level!
The room was spotless and impeccably clean.
For those of you who have not had a Brazilian before, imagine the above picture to be your precious nether region. It tends to differ for everyone, but as good and quick as Natalie was, the red T zone is an apt description of where I was most uncomfortable. The pain did catch me off guard as I had almost romanticized Brazilians as a painless venture, but it was tolerable especially once we started talking about how men would never be able to tolerate this kind of pain. Hating on the guys ALWAYS gets a women motivated, am I right?! The worst part for me was when Natalie had one side done that HURT and I KNEW that for the sake of vaginal symmetry, I HAD TO get the other side done too.
It was all over in 15 minutes with just a little tenderness, but no redness. I am writing this a few weeks later and I have ZERO in-growns and by the next day my skin was back to normal. The girls at Stripped Wax Bar were all very professional and very sweet about easing my anxiety over the Brazilian. I should add that there is “yummy-mummy Brazilian” on the Stripped menu also for $38 that caters to expectant moms who still want to “keep it neat” down there. The difference with this treatment is that more wax strips are used, therefore minimizing the pain since skin is more sensitive during pregnancy. Skin is also more sensitive a week before and after your period so if you can time your wax that’s great, if not you suck it up and just live through the Triangle of Pain like a big girl.
If you live in Vancouver, and want an affordable wax that won’t leave you red and sore, definitely try Stripped Wax Bar!
Complimentary service provided, but blog post was ALL UP TO ME because I believe in supporting local small businesses!
