Eve Pearl | Dual Salmon Concealer and High Definition Dual Foundation with Swatches

I have talked about Eve Pearl before when I reviewed their Smudgeproof Liquid Eyeliner and really loved how thin and precise the brush was and today I present to you one product that I loved and one that I had to experiment with before, like Goldilocks, I got it just right! First up, I have the Dual Salmon Concealer ($39.00) followed by the High Definition Dual Foundation ($56.00).

High Definition Dual Foundation - This luxurious, lightweight cream foundation provides the most versatile sheer - medium – full coverage with a non-greasy texture that glides on the face, while allowing your skin to breathe.  The 2-shades of foundation blend into the skin and the universal spectrum of color in the pigments adapt to the skin tone and the changes caused by body chemistry, weather and sun exposure.

Dual Salmon Concealer - Revolutionary, counter-intuitive way to cover dark under eye circles with two shades: use the darker shade to neutralize blue undertones under the eye and highlight the inner and outer corner of the eyes with the lighter shade.

The foundation compact also comes with an application sponge underneath which comes in handy if you are just carrying this in your purse for touch-ups. There are also vents on the bottom of the packaging to allow the sponge to breathe after it has been dampened for use which I thought was pretty thoughtful packaging!

This is a before and after when using the Dual Salmon Concealer in Light. Right away, I noticed that my eyes didn’t look quite as puffy and the dark circles under my eyes all but vanished. There is no water in this concealer and yet it still has the creamiest, most silky finish thanks to beeswax and coconut oil that transforms into a powder upon application (gotta love beauty science). Another interesting property of this product is that it can be used for sheer to medium to full coverage! From dark circles to tattoos!

INGREDIENTS:  Cetearyl Ethylhexanoate, Octyldodecanol, Silica, Cera Alba(Beeswax/Cire d’abeille), PEG-8 Beeswax, Hydrogenated Coconut Oil, Caprylyl Methicone, Cyclopentasiloxane, Tocopheryl Acetate, Ethylhexyl Stearate, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Polysilicone-11, +/-(May Contain/Peut Contenir): Mica, CI 77891 (Titanium Dioxide), CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499 (Iron Oxides)

Benefits:

  • Neutralizes under-eye circles and any hyper-pigmented area (even covers tattoos)
  • Non-greasy texture glides on the under eye area while allowing skin to breathe
  • Universal spectrum of color adapts to skin tones and changes caused by body chemistry, weather and sun exposure
  • Matte finish…the feel transforms from a smooth cream to a lightweight powder
  • For all skin types, especially sensitive skin

Here I am wearing the High Definition Dual Foundation in Light which again can go from sheer to medium to full coverage and is also water-free. Like the concealer, the foundation also converts from a cream to a powder upon application and is silky smooth to the touch. I’m looking pretty flawless, right? Much more alert that is! I chose a day to do these shots were I was particularly exhausted!

The foundation took some trial and error for me as it felt so light when I swatched it that I went a little crazy with it the first time and the final results were…questionable.  I have particularly dry skin so to make this concealer work for me, I made sure my skin was FULLY HYDRATED and did not show any dry patches. Then with a lighter hand and my Beauty Blender (I used a brush the first time), I took less product and just sponged the foundation on. I was pretty amazed at how little product I needed to get full coverage.

INGREDIENTS:  Cetearyl Ethylhexanoate, Octyldodecanol,Silica, Cera Alba(Beeswax/Cire d’abeille), PEG-8 Beeswax, Hydrogenated CoconutOil, Caprylyl Methicone, Cyclopentasiloxane, Tocopheryl Acetate, EthylhexylStearate, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Silica Dimethyl Silylate,Polysilicone-11, +/-(May Contain/Peut Contenir): Mica, CI 77891 (TitaniumDioxide), CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499 (Iron Oxides)

Benefits:

  • Long lasting wear that feels like your favourite skincare ... because it is skincare
  • Hydrates, protects & rejuvenates your skin’s texture and elasticity
  • Covers redness, discolorations, scarring, imperfections and more
  • For all skin types, especially sensitive skin

Final Verdict: The concealer is WONDERFUL. It’s on the expensive side, but concealer does last awhile as such small amounts are used, but I love that the Salmon Concealer has two shades for brightening and covering. There is also vitamin E in it which means…anti-aging! All I need is a dab of my finger and my dark circles are non-existent.

Although the foundation needed a little bit of experimentation before I got it to wear better on me, the coverage is quite impressive seeing as how you only need a tiny amount. Blending the two colours is supposed to give the perfect foundation colour, but I found that I couldn’t quite get the mix of the two right and kept gravitating more towards the lighter shade as it was a near perfect match to my skin, The matte finish may have made my skin look drier than it was so if you have dry patches of skin make sure to hydrate those areas before application. I know this foundation is for all skin types, but I do feel like if you have dry skin you need to take some extra precautions. I am also more used to “dewy” foundations so the matte finish may just be something I am not used to.

Overall, both the concealer and foundation are solid products, but if you are looking for that dewy finish and slightly lighter coverage, I’d recommend the Eve Pearl PEARLfx HD Creme Liquid Foundation ($42.00). I have it and really enjoy it as it reminds me of a BB cream with better coverage.
